The pouch floor and the pouch sidewall define a chamber sized to receive the battery pack when the battery pack is attached to the cordless power tool. A flexible conduit extends along the sidewall rim portion. A drawstring extends through the flexible conduit and is capable of restricting the pouch opening to be smaller than the battery pack perimeter, thereby preventing the drop-prevention pouch from being removed from the battery pack when the battery pack is attached to the cordless power tool.
