The invention also related to a method for improving light intake and light exposure of a user.
DERMATOLOGICAL SYSTEMS AND METHODS WITH HANDPIECE FOR COAXIAL PULSE DELIVERY AND TEMPERATURE SENSING
Dermatological systems and methods for providing a therapeutic laser treatment using a handpiece delivering one or more therapeutic laser pulses to a target skin area along a first optical path, and sensing the temperature of the target skin area based on infrared energy radiating from the target skin area along a second optical path generally counterdirectional to the first optical path, and sharing a common optical axis with the first optical path for at least a portion of the first and second optical paths. The handpiece may also provide contact cooling for a first skin area comprising the target skin area.
System and method for administering light therapy to curved and large surfaces
A system and method are disclosed that use a flexible guide (flap) and a scanning method to control the delivery of light dose to a treatment area. This approach overcomes the non-reliable delivery of light dose with a flap that conforms to the target area. Dosimetry control can be improved through the use of a computer controlled motor to move the laser fibers at known speed over the target tissue. In some embodiments, treatment time is reduced and illumination of large surfaces is achieved by using multiple fibers to deliver the light simultaneously.

A skin treatment device capable of automatically outputting high-frequency energy is proposed. The skin treatment device includes a tip configured to be in contact with skin and transmit high-frequency energy, a handpiece to which the tip may be mounted, and configured to be gripped by a user and to allow the tip to be located on the skin, and a controller configured to control output of the high-frequency energy so that the high-frequency energy may pass through the handpiece and may be transmitted through the tip, and the tip includes a temperature detecting sensor at a front surface thereof to detect temperature of the contacted skin, and the handpiece includes a pressure detecting sensor configured to detect pressure applied to the tip and an acceleration detecting sensor configured to detect acceleration input in response to movement of the handpiece.
Bacteria removal laser
A bacteria removal laser is provided, especially for removing caries bacteria from natural or prosthetic teeth, the prosthetic teeth also being treated via extraoral approach, having a gripping handle, a laser radiation source, an application optics having a predetermined radiation exit surface, especially a radiation guide rod through which laser radiation passes, and an energy source such as a mains connection or an accumulator. The laser emits in the wavelength range between 2200 nm and 4000 nm and is especially designed as an Er:YAG laser. The energy output averaged over time is less than 1 mJ/mm.sup.2 at the radiation exit surface.
