An improved device distinguishes in that at least one of the radiation sources and the additional radiation sources comprise LEDs or a plurality of LEDs, and that the at least one reflector or the plurality of reflectors collimate the radiation emitted by said at least one of the radiation sources and the additional radiation sources.

Method and Eye Mask Apparatus for Treating an Eye Using a Broad Area Light Source
20210275829 · 2021-09-09 · ·

A light based system for treating an eye includes a mask that is configured for positioning on the eye and a light source that is configured to deliver therapeutic light. The mask has an inner surface that is positionable against the eye and an outer surface that is opposite the inner surface. The mask is optically opaque to prevent transmission of light through the mask and the mask includes at least one transparent opening that allows transmission of light through the mask to target tissue of the eye posterior the transparent opening. The light source is positioned relative to the mask so that the delivered therapeutic light irradiates at least a portion of the mask and the transparent opening. Therapeutic light traverses through the transparent opening to the target tissue positioned posterior the transparent opening.

Micro-electrode array and method for producing a micro-electrode array

A micro-electrode array (1) comprising a flexible substrate (2) and a multiplicity of electrodes (3) for electrically measuring neural activity is described. The electrodes (3) are arranged on the substrate (2), project from the plane of the substrate (2) and have a core (4). A plurality of measurement lines (9) that are electrically insulated from one another are arranged around the core (4). Adjacent to the end surface (7) of the core (4), at the end of the electrodes (3) there are a plurality of electrode surfaces (8) arranged in a manner distributed spatially around the end surface (7), said electrode surfaces in each case being electrically conductively connected to an associated measurement line (9). The micro-electrode array (1) is passivated with a polymer-containing material, such as e.g. polyimide, such that only the electrodes (3) electrically contact neural tissue with their electrode surfaces (8, E1, E2).
