Cable gripper tool
Disclosed is a cable gripping device used for manually gripping a coaxial cable to install a coaxial connector on the coaxial cable. According to an exemplary embodiment, the coaxial gripping tool includes a first half portion and a mating and/or hinged second half portion, wherein the mating/hinged portions provide a longitudinal bore configured to grip the coaxial cable.
Apparatus for fitting cables with cable sleeves
A cable fitting transfer unit includes a holding arbor configured to accommodate cable fittings thereon; a conveyor configured to transport cable fittings to the holding arbor; a cable fitting fitter configured to receive cable fittings from the holding arbor; and, a force transducer operatively connected to measure accommodation force in the holding arbor during the accommodation of cable fittings, the force transducer being situated at the holding arbor.
Apparatus for applying a sleeve to a cable and method of insertion into a conduit
A fabric sleeve in the form of a strip of material having compatible attachment members along its lateral edges, is applied to a cable by a device located at a site where the cable can be introduced into a conduit. The device includes a beam carried by a post. The beam carries a plurality of formers which receive the sleeve and the cable from rolls and which progressively fold the sleeve around the cable. The beam also carries an attachment device which receives the sleeve and cable from the formers and which connects the attachment members of the sleeve to confine the cable therein. The attachment device can be opened so that the sleeved cable can be removed. The device is operated at the site until the sleeved cable reaches a downstream installation site and the process is repeated at that downstream site.

CRIMPING TOOL EXCHANGE DEVICE, CRIMPING PRESS SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR EXCHANGING A FIRST CRIMPING TOOL, ARRANGED AT A PROCESSING POSITION IN A CRIMPING PRESS, FOR A SECOND CRIMPING TOOL
A crimping tool exchange device exchanges a first crimping tool for a second crimping tool, wherein each crimping tool, when at a processing position in a crimping press, produces a crimp connection connecting a conductor end of a cable to a crimp contact. The device includes first and second exchange units retaining the first and second crimping tools respectively. When one of the exchange units is arranged in an exchange position the retained crimping tool can be moved in a first direction between the processing position and the one exchange unit. The first exchange unit is moved linearly from the exchange position in a second direction, and the second exchange unit is moved linearly from the exchange position in a third direction that is different from the second direction, the second direction being at an angle relative to the third direction.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE ASSEMBLING APPARATUS AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE ASSEMBLING METHOD
An electronic device assembling apparatus has a cable holder and a lock member operator. The cable holder holds a cable and inserts the cable into a connector. After the cable is inserted into the connector by the cable holder, the lock member operator operates a lock member to lock the cable to the connector. The lock member operator starts an operation with respect to the lock member in a state where the cable inserted into the connector is held by the cable holder.
VIBRATING PALLET SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATED WIRE INSERTION
A method and an apparatus relate to the insertion of one or more wires into a cavity of a fixture of a structure or component. The wire insertion apparatus includes a grommet, a gripper adapted to interface with the grommet, and at least a first vibrating element. The first vibrating element is connected to and vibrates one or more of the apparatus, the grommet, the gripper, the wire, and/or a component of the apparatus. Vibration, induced in any direction, enables the cavities to shift position during insertion relative to the contact, thus increasing the tolerance of the cavity, reducing the failure rate of wire insertion, and reducing total production time. The vibration breaks the static friction of the contact in the grommet or dielectric opening, creates the positive locating required to insert the contact in the grommet and/or dielectric, and/or pivots the contact.
Vibrating pallet system for automated wire insertion
A wire insertion system includes a fixture, a first vibrating element connected to the fixture, and a gripper adapted to interface with the fixture and to support a plurality of wires, in which the gripper includes a body, at least one gripping member coupled to the body, and a second vibrating element connected to the gripper. The wire insertion system further includes a sensor coupled to the fixture, and a controller coupled to the sensor and in communication with the first vibrating element, the second vibrating element, and the gripper, and configured to vibrate the first vibrating element and the second vibrating element using signals from the sensor.
Method and apparatus for forming interface between coaxial cable and connector
A method of forming a solder joint between a coaxial cable and a coaxial connector includes the steps of: positioning a solder element between an end of an outer conductor of the coaxial cable and a connector body of the connector, wherein the solder element is positioned within a vacuum chamber; melting the solder element to form a solder joint between the outer conductor and the connector body, the solder joint including a lower surface formed by contact with a mounting structure; and applying suction to the melting solder element to reduce the formation of bubbles within the solder joint.
