A check and flow metering cartridge valve having two flow restriction zones, each zone being disposed adjacent a respective end of a valve chamber containing a check valve member, the zones being serially encountered by flow through the valve, the restriction of the restriction zones together being a majority of the total flow restriction in the valve, each restriction zone producing at least 26% of a total restriction to flow through the valve, the restriction zones maintaining back pressure in the valve chamber when the check valve member is unseated thereby providing damping of the check valve member.
Check valve for use with super absorbent polymer
A check valve formed from a body having inlet and outlet interior chambers with the outlet chamber functioning as a diffuser when assisting in the arrest of reverse water flow. A seat base is positioned between the inlet and outlet chambers with a tubular sleeve for housing a stem having a lip positioned along one end and a threaded opposite end secured within the inlet chamber. A spring fits around the stem and a sphere is secured to the threaded end of the stem for engaging the seat base. Movement of the sphere away from the inlet chamber allows dry polymer to pass when the spring is compressed. Upon loss of force capable of moving the sphere away from the inlet chamber, relaxation of the spring allows the sphere to engage the seat base with an attached grommet before water can flow backwards into the interior chamber.

A pressure relief valve includes a valve housing having an inlet end with an inlet opening having a valve seat surface surrounding the inlet opening. The valve housing defines an outlet end with a plurality of outlet holes and a valve chamber disposed between the valve seat and the outlet end. One of the plurality of outlet holes has a smaller cross section than the other outlet holes. The valve chamber includes a plurality of radially protruding grooves extending radially beyond a base diameter. One of the plurality of radially protruding grooves has a groove cross section that is smaller than a groove cross section of the remaining grooves, which along with the smaller outlet hole cause a lateral pressure imbalance on the valve member so that the valve member tends to remain in contact with a side of the valve seat while permitting relief flow.

A pressure relief valve includes a valve housing having an inlet end with an inlet opening having a valve seat surface surrounding the inlet opening. The valve housing defines an outlet end with a plurality of outlet holes and a valve chamber disposed between the valve seat and the outlet end. One of the plurality of outlet holes has a smaller cross section than the other outlet holes. The valve chamber includes a plurality of radially protruding grooves extending radially beyond a base diameter. One of the plurality of radially protruding grooves has a groove cross section that is smaller than a groove cross section of the remaining grooves, which along with the smaller outlet hole cause a lateral pressure imbalance on the valve member so that the valve member tends to remain in contact with a side of the valve seat while permitting relief flow.
Method and Apparatus for Controlling the Flow Rate of Fluid Discharge
A method and apparatus for use in controlling a dispensing rate of medication or other substance via a syringe, including, without limitation, into a patient, intravenous line port or heparin lock. A fluid flow rate control apparatus has a housing defining an inner chamber with an inlet port and an outlet port. Sealing seats are formed at or near both the inlet and outlet ports, and a moveable sealing element, such as a ball, can move within the inner chamber between the sealing seats. A spring biases the ball toward the inlet port sealing seat.
Check valve for a fluid flow regulation system
Embodiments include a flow regulating device. The flow regulating device may include a check valve. The check valve can have a first flange, a second flange and a ball seated against a seat defined by the first flange. The check valve is in a closed position when the ball is seated against the first flange. One or more stoppers may be positioned at a distance from the first flange. A fluid may flow through a first orifice and a second orifice defined in the first and second flanges respectively, when the first check valve is in an open position. The fluid lifts the ball from the first orifice, and pushes the ball towards the second orifice. The stoppers abut the ball when the first check valve is in a fully open position.
Assembly
An assembly includes: a first component; a second component enclosed by the first component; a diaphragm that covers a radial gap between the first and second components and is fixed in each case in a sealed manner; and a volume of a medium that is enclosed by the first and second components and the diaphragm. For the purpose of achieving a simple filling process of the assembly with the medium at a reliable sealing of the enclosed volume, even in the case of high, swelling pressures acting upon the assembly, in one of the components a filling valve is situated that opens towards the volume, which filling valve is situated as a check valve having spring resetting in a filling channel running in the component.
Method and apparatus for damping an actuator on a fluid regulator
A damped actuator for a fluid regulator includes a diaphragm disposed in a housing, and a damper arranged to stabilize movement of the diaphragm in response to changes in pressure inside the housing. The damper includes a ball check valve arranged to allow air to exhaust out of the housing when above a preselected pressure. The damper may include interchangeable components so as to be modifiable to have different set point pressures to achieve different backpressures inside the housing.
Fluid evacuation valve with break-away groove
A device for removing oils, fuels and other fluids from reservoirs is disclosed that works in conjunction with engine-powered devices via a vacuum-actuated valve containing a multi-tiered U-groove. The U-groove allows a disconnection of the valve bolt shaft from the threaded end that fits inside the reservoir, trapping and holding the fluid in the reservoir.
