Valve plugs having curved notches
Valve plugs having curved notches are described herein. An example valve plug includes a first section defining a first end, a second section defining a second end opposite the first end, and a third section located between the first and second sections, the third section including a curved notch formed inwardly from a periphery of the third section toward a longitudinal axis of the valve plug defined by the first, second and third sections.
PRESSURE-REGULATING VALVES
A pressure-regulating valve includes a valve sleeve with first and second ends defining a longitudinal axis, a sense line, a sense piston, a main chamber, and first and second valve spools. The sleeve includes an axially aligned bore. The sense line is within the bore proximate the first end. The sense piston is within the bore between the sense line and the second end, and is configured to move along the longitudinal axis in response to pressure exerted by fluid in the sense line. The main chamber is within the bore between the sense piston and the second end, and includes supply and vent ports. The first valve spool is within the bore between the sense piston and the second end. The second valve spool is within the bore between the first valve spool and the second end.

SPOOL FOR HYDRAULIC VALVE
The present disclosure describes a spool for a hydraulic valve. The spool includes a cylindrical body having at least one slot configured to engage with a valve body of the hydraulic valve. The spool also includes a first chamber and a second chamber located downstream of the first chamber and in fluid communication with the first chamber. The first chamber is defined within the cylindrical body and configured to receive fluid through a plurality of holes defined in the cylindrical body. An inner diameter of the second chamber is less than an inner diameter of the first chamber. The first chamber is configured to elongate along a longitudinal axis thereof based on a pressure of the fluid received within the first chamber. Further, an outer surface of the first chamber is configured to contract based on the elongation of the first chamber.
Clutch spool valve assembly
According to an embodiment, a valve assembly is provided for use with a fluid system for controlling flow rate to a fluid circuit for cooling and/or lubricating a clutch assembly in a transmission. The spool valve has a first outlet and a second outlet in fluid communication with the fluid circuit. The spool valve has a first configuration with zero flow to the fluid circuit, a second configuration providing a first flow to the fluid circuit through the first outlet, and a third configuration providing a second flow to the fluid circuit through the first and second outlets. The first outlet has a metering orifice. The flow across the valve is a function of the stroke distance of the spool.
