Upright fire protection sprinkler

A tire protection sprinkler including a frame body having an inlet, an outlet, defining an internal passageway extending between the inlet and the outlet along a sprinkler axis. A dome shaped deflector member is centered, axially aligned with the sprinkler axis, and spaced from the outlet. The deflector member has an outer surface and an inner surface that preferably includes: a peripheral region, a central region and an intermediate region. The intermediate region includes a primary deflecting surface, and a secondary deflecting surface that is surrounded by the primary deflecting surface The deflector member provides for generation of a non-circular spray pattern defined by four zones of fluid density concentrically formed about the sprinkler axis.

A flexible dry fire protection sprinkler includes an inlet seal assembly sealing an inlet orifice, an inlet release unit to release the seal assembly, a flexible tube connected to the inlet release unit, a flexible linkage extending through the flexible tube, having an inlet end connected to the inlet release unit, an outlet biasing portion connected to an outlet end of the flexible tube and the flexible linkage, to displace the outlet end of the linkage upon activation, a sprinkler body connected to the outlet biasing portion, and an outlet seal assembly to seal an outlet orifice of the body until a predetermined temperature is reached. When reached, the outlet seal assembly releases from an outlet orifice of the body, and the outlet biasing portion displaces the linkage, causing the inlet end of the linkage to operate the inlet release unit, releasing the inlet seal assembly from the inlet orifice.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF LOW CLEARANCE STORAGE FIRE PROTECTION

A fire protection system includes a plurality of fluid distribution devices coupled to the fluid supply pipes to define four fluid distribution devices above a floor. The fluid distribution devices generate a spray pattern overlapping one another to define a rectangular fluid distribution area 2.5 ft. The rectangular area having a first pair of edges extending parallel to the fluid supply pipes and a second pair of edge extending perpendicular to the first edge. The fluid distribution devices are axially aligned above a corner of the rectangular area, the fluid distribution area defined by a grid of one square foot areas totaling an area no more than 12 ft.8 ft., the rectangular area of fluid distribution having a total fluid density of at least 60 gpm/sq. ft., the rectangular area including a first zone of fluid distribution of a 4 ft.4 ft. area.

Dry sprinkler assemblies

A dry sprinkler for a fire protection system having a configuration with one or more coupling arrangements for connection to a fluid supply piping of the system. The dry sprinkler structure further includes an inner surface and inner assembly to provide a preferred discharge performance. The dry sprinkler provides for a flow rate from the outlet of the sprinkler in accordance with the start pressure at the inlet of the sprinkler and the rated discharge coefficient, K factor, ranging between 16.8 GPM/PSI and 33.6 GPM/PSI.

Automatic fire protection sprinkler assemblies having a trigger assembly with a thermally responsive element and a yoke that seats and facilitates heat flow over the thermally responsive element. The yoke includes an elongate support member with a central region centered between two end portions with linear portions extending between the central region and the end portions. The yoke defines a heat impact region in which the end of the trigger assembly is received and seated. The yoke also provides a lateral access to define a fluid flow path in fluid communication with the heat impact region to facilitate heat flow over the thermally responsive element.
