The arrangement of internal pivot frames is such that armrest handle actuation shifts the user's center of mass both vertically and longitudinally, which in turn initiates a natural rocking motion by gravity. The inertial dynamics of the resulting motion are inherently kinesthetically pleasurable. The resistance is provided by the user's own body weight with variation through differential leverage. Alternatively, the configuration of the armrest handles is such that a user may benefit from an isometric exercise by simply holding them stationary in a conventional armrest position.

In some embodiments the handles are inflatable to facilitate compression grip exercises. In some embodiments the handles are attached to the coil spring by male-female connection system. Another embodiment of the present invention substitutes polyhedrons for the two partial spheroids.
