A chair exercise device is an apparatus used enabling a user to perform resistance exercises using a chair, especially an office chair. The apparatus is also configured to collapse easily to facilitate transportation. The apparatus includes an anchoring strap, at least one securing strap, and at least one resistance band. The anchoring strap relates to a flexible connector which enables the user to join the apparatus to a leg or support of a chair. The chosen chair leg becomes the primary support against which the user pulls during exercise. The at least one securing strap is a unit utilized to connect the apparatus to the user's leg, wrist, hand, or other area before exercise. The at least one resistance band relates to a flexible elastic band, tube, or otherwise shaped mechanism capable of holding and transmitting cyclical tensile spring forces from the chosen chair leg to the user during exercise.

Exercise equipment for at least pulling and pushing exercises comprises an elastic tubular band covered by a flexible material covering, for example, of nylon which is threaded through an O-ring grommet and holes in first and second straps threaded through first and second handles proximate to one another when gripped by a user. The exercise equipment may be used with a safety door attachment that comprises a safety loop for looping around a door handle or knob. The safety loop is stitched to a loop threaded through a plastic spindle of a foam door stop used on one side of a closed door. A further loop extends from the plastic spindle to the other closed side of the door and is adapted to receive the exercise equipment through the further loop. A series of isometric pulling and pushing exercises, trunk rotation among other exercises are disclosed and various accessories which may be used for warm up, relieving pain and for exercise including a D-ring embodiment for use with known exercise equipment.

Resistance band assembly

A method of varying a resistive force applied by exercise equipment including providing a resistance band assembly for providing resistive force during the performance of an exercise. The resistance band assembly includes a housing having a first end, a second end, and a longitudinal axis extending therebetween. A bore is defined in the housing and a connector is provided in the bore. The connector includes first and second surfaces and a hole is defined in the connector and extends between the surfaces. A disc is also provided in the bore and also has a first and second surface. An aperture is defined in the disc and extends between the first and second surfaces thereof. A first and second resilient member is provided and these resilient members are selectively engageable with the resistance band assembly to provide a first resistive force during the performance of an exercise.
