Self-locomotion training systems and methods
Embodiments allow the application of a settable and/or a programmable resistance to a trainee's leg Drive Phase and/or Recovery Phase while walking or running over extended or infinite distances. Multiple mechanical or electrical feedback loops or combinations of both to monitor the applied resistance to the Trainee by the tether or tethers and then control the amount of breaking (drag) or propulsion created by the Mobile training module during the acceleration and constant speed training phases to accurately generate, control and transfer resistance through the elastic tethers to the Trainee. Embodiments apply multiple, non-varying loads or programmable loads to multiple body parts of a trainee where applied resistance can be manipulated to both increase or decrease over distance as desired by trainee while the trainee is walking, running or sprinting over any distance.
Gluteus Maximus Power Lift Apparatus
The gluteal muscles are exercised using a vertical lift strategy. It is much improved over common buttock exercise methods of sitting, laying, squatting or pushing weight horizontally. The (GM) power lift apparatus is operated in a standing position. Using commercial exercise design methods, the GM power lift apparatus is designed around the lifting of a variable weight plate stack. Three pullies redirect the pull force of the weight plate under the operator's foot as lift on the gluteus maximus muscle group. The new standing design allows improved muscle agitation by making the gluteus maximus muscle group lift a vertical payload, the maximum angle of force. During the power lift stroke, the foot, leg and back muscles are vertically synchronized to horizontal stretched forearms providing greater strength management.
INTERCHANGEABLE ROTATING FREE-MOTION FITNESS HANDLE SYSTEM
A fitness handle which is used as an exercise device that allows a resilient cord or tube to move in a linear direction in order to maintain consistent resistance. The fitness handle includes a grip and a frame. The frame includes an opening which allows the cord to slide. The cord or tube has an adjoining portion which fits into the opening of the handle.
Portable hamstring stretcher/exerciser device
The embodiments herein provide a portable hamstring stretcher for stretching hamstring muscles and inner thigh muscles. The portable hamstring stretcher comprises a primary board, a secondary board (leg pieces), a plurality of hinges, a chain, a plurality of ratchet straps, a ratchet, a plurality of hinges, and a plurality of adjustable straps. A user lies down on the primary board and wraps his legs using the adjustable straps on the secondary board to exercise the hamstring muscles.
WORKOUT DEVICES AND METHODS
A workout device that has an arcuate body having first and second ends, and one or more attachment points extending through the body, each attachment point for releasably attaching a load and for releasably attaching an anchor to suspend the workout device.
CALF RAISE EXERCISE DEVICE
In accordance with the invention, a uniquely constructed, lightweight calf raise exercise device is provided which is user friendly, portable, and inexpensive—providing athletes with the ability to effectively strengthen leg muscles without going to the gym, which is optimal for the busy lifestyle. The calf raise device generally includes a platform assembly having a length extending between a front side and a rear side, the platform assembly including a first surface extending a segment of the length from the front side and an elevated second surface extending the remainder of the length between the first surface and the rear side, wherein the first surface is configured to support the user's heels during operation and the second surface is configured to support the user's toes during operation and throughout the motion of the calf raise. The calf raise device also includes at least two ankle cuffs configured to receive the ankles of the user wearing the calf raise device and at least two elastic resistance members operably connecting the platform assembly with the at least two ankle cuffs respectively. The elastic resistance members are configured to provide resistance throughout the motion of the calf raise.
Adjustable training apparatus
An adjustable training apparatus includes a harness that is worn over an upper torso of a person training, and two tensioning devices that are secured to the harness. Each tensioning device includes a cord that extends from the device, with an outer end of the cord being configured to be secured to a body part of the person training. A method of conducting anaerobic resistance training is further disclosed.
Towel stretching assembly for stretching exercises
There is accordingly provided a flexible sheet assembly for stretching exercises. The assembly has a longitudinal axis. The assembly includes an elongate flexible sheet having a pair of spaced-apart longitudinally extending sides. The sheet has a pair of spaced-apart ends that extend between the sides. The sheet has a first longitudinal portion extending from a first one of the ends towards a second one of the ends. The sheet has a second longitudinal portion extending from the second one of the ends towards the first one of the ends. At least a first one of the longitudinal portions of the sheet has an aperture extending therethrough. Portions of the first one of the longitudinal portions of the sheet adjacent to the aperture are curved.
Low friction rehabilitation board with an integral band retaining feature
A low friction rehabilitation board having an integral band retaining feature is described. The rehabilitation board may have a coefficient of static friction of no more than about 0.5 and in some embodiments no more than about 0.06. A non-slip material may be attached to the bottom surface of the rehabilitation board. A band retaining feature is described as being integral to the rehabilitation board such that it is attached to the board, or may be fastened to the board. Additionally, in some embodiments, the board comprises range markings for the determination of the degree or amount of exertion or extension. Furthermore, the range markings may be calibrated to specific resistance band types. In other embodiments, the rehabilitation board may be configured with interlocking features to provide a modular option for combining boards when more extension is required.
Free-motion dynamic resistance trainer for sports and rehabilitation movement training
A free-motion dynamic resistance trainer to be used to train the muscular coordination, dynamic stability and gait mechanics of athletes and physical therapy patients. Adjustable tension shock cords or bungee cords and resistance tubing are used in conjunction with a spinal support harness and jib in order to allow for the adjustment of progressive resistance and to create a heightened sense of proprioceptive awareness in those muscles and joints that are meant to be targeted depending upon the particular movement pattern being exercised. While providing resistance to improve strength and stamina, the shock cords or bungee cords and resistance tubing simultaneously guide and assist the trainee through certain aspects of each movement in order to train muscle memory of the proper kinetic sequence and body positioning. The apparatus, which is meant to be worn, can be used during sport specific movements other than running, in order to train and improve performance in myriad sports and activities.
