SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ADJUSTING A STIFFNESS OF FITNESS MACHINES
A fitness machine operable by a user. The fitness machine has a base and a mobile portion that moves relative to the base during operation. A resilient body resists movement of the mobile portion towards the base in a height direction. The resilient body has a length defined in a length direction that is perpendicular to the height direction. The length of the resilient body increases when the mobile portion moves towards the base. An end stop is operable to prevent the length of the resilient body from increasing beyond a set maximum. The end stop is moveable to adjust the set maximum for the length of the resilient body, where a resistance provided by the resilient body to resist movement of the mobile portion towards the base is unaffected by moving the end stop when the length of the resilient member is less than the set maximum.
Electric treadmill with safety stop function
A motorized treadmill includes a base, an endless belt movable relative to the base for allowing a user to exercise thereon, a motor coupled to the endless belt for driving the endless belt to rotate, a retaining mechanism and a controller in communication with the motor. The retaining mechanism has a retaining member mounted at a rear end of the base under the endless belt and a sensor coupled to the retaining member. The sensor is configured to sense whether an object contacts the retaining member. The controller is configured to determine whether rotation of the endless belt is interfered by the object. When the sensor detects that the retaining member comes into contact with the object, the controller determines that the endless belt is interfered by the object and stops rotation of the motor to slow down or stop rotation of the endless belt.
EXERCISE MACHINE WITH SCREEN LOCK FUNCTION
An exercise machine has a lock mode and an unlock mode associated with a screen lock function. A computing device coupled to the exercise machine includes a display, memory, and a processor coupled to the memory. The computing device is configured to detect a user interaction with the computing device or the exercise machine while the exercise machine is in the lock mode, render a screen lock interface on the display in response to the user interaction, receive an input code from the screen lock interface, determine that the input code matches a goal code, and adjust the exercise machine from the lock mode to the unlock mode in response to determining that the input code matches the goal code.
ENCODING EXERCISE MACHINE CONTROL COMMANDS IN SUBTITLE STREAMS
A method for controlling an exercise machine using a video workout program including encoding, remotely from the exercise machine, exercise machine control commands into a subtitle stream of a video to create the video workout program, wherein the exercise machine control commands are encoded at least once per second, decoding, locally to the exercise machine, the subtitle stream of the video to access the exercise machine control commands, displaying, locally to the exercise machine, the video, and controlling, locally to the exercise machine, one or more moveable members of the exercise machine using the exercise machine control commands.
Motorized treadmill with motor braking mechanism and methods of operating same
A treadmill includes a frame; a running belt configured to move relative the frame; and a motor coupled to the running belt. The motor is operable in a plurality of user controlled operating modes. In a first operating mode, the force of rotation of the running belt is provided by a user of the treadmill. In a second operating mode, the motor applies a desired braking force to resist rotation of the running belt. In a third operating mode, the motor applies a torque output to the running belt based on a force exerted on the running belt by a user of the treadmill.
Universal Exercise Machine with Motorized Resistance and Associated Method of Use
An exercise machine including a motor assembly that provides both motor driven resistance forces and motor driven rotation forces. A frame of the machine assists a user in the performance of an exercise, and separates a treadmill portion of the machine from a weightlifting portion of the machine. The treadmill portion is driven by the motor driven rotation forces, and the weightlifting portion is driven by the motor driven resistance forces, thereby providing a universal machine that provides for performance of a plurality of exercises.

An exercise machine includes a processor, a first display, a deck, and a belt rotatable about the deck. The machine also includes a sensor operably connected to the processor and configured to detect a first performance parameter of a first user running on the belt of the exercise machine. The processor is configured to receive information indicative of a second performance parameter of a second user, the second performance parameter being detected at an additional exercise machine during display of the at least part of the exercise class on a display associated with the additional exercise machine. The processor is also configured to cause the second performance parameter to be displayed on the first display together with the first performance parameter.

A method includes providing a first video file to a plurality of exercise machines, the first video file including content associated with an exercise class. The method also includes receiving user data from the plurality of exercise machines, the user data including respective settings associated with a common performance metric. In such a method, the respective settings are used on the plurality of exercise machines during playback of a particular part of the first video file. The method also includes identifying a timestamp associated with the particular part of the first video file, and generating an executable control corresponding to the performance metric. The method further includes generating a second video file comprising the content and the executable control. In such methods, playback of the second video file causes display of the executable control at a part of the second video file corresponding to the timestamp.
