The system for rehabilitation further includes a processing device operatively coupled to the memory device, the network interface card, and the sensor. The processing device is configured to execute the instructions to determine a plurality of angles, wherein the plurality of angles comprises at least one of the following: angles of extension of a first body part of a user extended away from a second body part of the user at a joint, and angles of bend of the first body part retracting closer toward the second body part. The processing device is further configured to execute the instructions to transmit the plurality of angles to a computing device controlling an electromechanical device, via the network interface card.
CONTROL SYSTEM FOR A REHABILITATION AND EXERCISE ELECTROMECHANICAL DEVICE
An electromechanical device for rehabilitation includes pedals coupled to radially-adjustable couplings, an electric motor coupled to the pedals via the radially-adjustable couplings, and a control system including a processing device operatively coupled to the electric motor. The processing device configured to, responsive to a first trigger condition occurring, control the electric motor to operate in a passive mode by independently driving the radially-adjustable couplings rotationally coupled to the pedals. The processing device also configured to, responsive to a second trigger condition occurring, control the electric motor to operate in an active-assisted mode by measuring revolutions per minute of the radially-adjustable couplings, and cause the electric motor to drive the radially-adjustable couplings when the measured revolutions per minute satisfy a threshold condition, and responsive to a third trigger condition occurring, control the electric motor to operate in a resistive mode by providing resistance to rotation of the radially-adjustable couplings.

A system for rehabilitation is disclosed. The system for rehabilitation includes one or more electronic devices comprising one or more memory devices storing instructions, one or more network interface cards, and one or more sensors, wherein the one or more electronic devices are coupled to a user. The system for rehabilitation further includes one or more processing devices operatively coupled to the one or more memory devices, the one or more network interface cards, and the one or more sensors. The one or more processing devices are configured to execute the instructions to receive information from the one or more sensors. The one or more processing devices are further configured to execute the instructions to transmit the information to a computing device controlling an electromechanical device, via the one or more network interface cards.
SYSTEM, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ADJUSTABLE PEDAL CRANK
A pedal assembly for an exercise and rehabilitation device can include a disk having an axis of rotation. A central aperture can be formed in the disk along the axis. Spokes can extend radially from adjacent the central aperture toward a perimeter of the disk. The disk can be formed from a first material. In addition, a crank can be coupled to one of the spokes of the disk. The crank can have a hub concentric with the central aperture. Pedal apertures can extend along a radial length of the crank. The crank can be formed from a metallic material that differs from the first material. A pedal having a spindle can be interchangeably and releasably mounted to the pedal apertures in the crank.
RECUMBENT THERAPEUTIC AND EXERCISE DEVICE
A therapeutic and exercise device includes a frame; a hand crank coupled to the frame which is rotatably movable by a user, the hand crank coupled to a vertically oriented rail such that the hand crank is adjustable in a vertical plane fore and aft relative to a support surface for the therapeutic and exercise device; a foot crank coupled to the frame which is rotatably movable by the user, the foot crank coupled to a horizontally oriented rail such that the foot crank is adjustable in a horizontal plane; and a brake coupled to the frame and to at least one of the hand crank or the foot crank, the brake configured to selectively apply a braking force to said at least one of the hand crank or the foot crank to resist rotational movement of the at least one of the hand crank or the foot crank.
Attachable rotary range of motion rehabilitation apparatus
An exercise and rehabilitation apparatus for exercising an extremity of a user. The apparatus includes a flywheel having a first side and a second side with a channel in the first side. The channel has a top edge near a planer surface of the first side. A lever, such as a pedal or handle, is adjustable in position and combined with an adjustment member. The adjustment member is movable within the channel between first and second positions. However, the adjustment member cannot be removed from the channel through a slot along the top edge. A locking pin, biased in an extended position, is combined with the adjustment member and is movable between the extended position and a retracted position. The flywheel includes a plurality of openings adapted to receive the locking pin in the extended position in order to secure the adjustment member at a particular location within the channel.
