ENVIRONMENTAL BARRIER COATING
An article includes a substrate and a barrier layer on the substrate. The barrier layer includes a matrix, diffusive particles dispersed in the matrix, and gettering particles dispersed in the matrix. The gettering particles include at least one alloyed metal silicide. A composite material and a method of fabricating an article are also disclosed.
Thermal Barrier Coating
A coated substrate has a substrate and a coating system having one or more ceramic layers. At least a first layer of one of the one or more ceramic layers is a columnar layer having as-deposited columns and intercolumn gaps. The intercolumn gaps have a mean width at least one of: at least 4.0 micrometers; and at least 1.5% of a thickness of said first layer.
Alloy, protective layer and component
Known protective layers having a high Cr content and additionally a silicon form brittle phases which additionally become brittle under the influence of carbon during use. The protective layer hereof has a composition 22% to 24% cobalt (Co), 10.5% to 11.5% aluminum (AI), 0.2% to 0.4% yttrium (Y) and/or at least one equivalent metal from the group comprising scandium and the rare earth elements, 14% to 16% chrome (Cr), optionally 0.3% to 0.9% tantalum, the remainder nickel (Ni).
Alloy, protective layer and component
Known protective layers having a high Cr-content and a silicone in addition, form brittle phases that embrittle further under the influence of carbon during use. The protective layer according to the invention is composed of 22% to 26% cobalt (Co), 10.5% to 12% aluminum (Al), 0.2% to 0.4% Yttrium (Y) and/or at least one equivalent metal from the group comprising Scandium and the rare earth elements, 15% to 16% chrome (Cr), optionally 0.3% to 1.5% tantal, the remainder nickel (Ni).

Disclosed are a ferritic stainless steel capable of inhibiting high temperature oxidation through generation of an effective oxide scale, and manufacturing method thereof. The ferritic stainless steel excellent in oxidation resistance at high temperature according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes, in percent (%) by weight of the entire composition, Cr: 10 to 30%, Si: 0.2 to 1.0%, Mn: 0.1 to 2.0%, W: 0.3 to 2.5%, Ti: 0.001 to 0.15%, Al: 0.001 to 0.1%, the remainder of iron (Fe) and other inevitable impurities, and satisfies a following equation (1).

ALUMINUM MEMBER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
An aluminum member includes: a base material made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy; and an anodized coating including a barrier layer on a surface of the base material and a porous layer on the barrier layer, wherein the anodized coating contains phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S), and has a thickness of 100 m or less, and, in a depth direction heading from a surface of the anodized coating toward the base material, a depth providing a maximum content of S in a region situated at a depth of 500 nm or more from the surface of the anodized coating is larger than a depth providing a maximum content of P, and an inequality (the maximum content of S)>(the maximum content of P) holds.
ZINC-BASED PLATED STEEL SHEET HAVING POST-TREATED COATING FORMED THEREON AND POST-TREATMENT METHOD THEREFOR
Provided is a zinc-based plated steel sheet having a post-treated coating filmed thereon including: a steel sheet; a zinc plated layer formed on the steel sheet; and a post-treated coating formed on the plated layer, wherein the atomic ratio (O/M) of oxygen (O) to metals (M) contained in the post-treated coating is greater than 2 and less than 20, and a method for post-treating a zinc-based plated steel sheet. According to this, the zinc-based plated steel sheet having the post-treated coating formed thereon has the effects excellent in lubricity, weldability, adhesiveness, film-removing property and paintability. As the method of post-treating a zinc-based plated steel sheet of the present invention employs a simple coating method irrespective of the kind of plating layer, the process is simple and economical and the process operation cost is low.
Superalloy target
A superalloy target wherein the superalloy target has a polycrystalline structure of random grain orientation, the average grain size in the structure is smaller than 20 m, and the porosity in the structure is smaller than 10%. Furthermore, the invention includes a method of producing a superalloy target by powder metallurgical production, wherein the powder-metallurgical production starts from alloyed powder(s) of a superalloy and includes the step of spark plasma sintering (SPS) of the alloyed powder(s).
FE-CO-AL ALLOY MAGNETIC THIN FILM
An FeCoAl alloy magnetic thin film contains, in terms of atomic ratio, 20% to 30% Co and 1.5% to 2.5% Al. The FeCoAl alloy magnetic thin film has a crystallographic orientation such that the (100) plane is parallel to a substrate surface and the <100> direction is perpendicular to the substrate surface. The FeCoAl alloy magnetic thin film has good magnetic properties, that is, a magnetization of 1440 emu/cc or more, a coercive force of less than 100 Oe, a damping factor of less than 0.01, and an FMR linewidth H at 30 GHz of less than 70 Oe.
