A pedaling cadence at the pedal crankset of between approximately 60 RPM and approximately 100 RPM achieves an alternator drive shaft RPM of between approximately 2,000 RPM and approximately 5,000 RPM.

The channel has a top edge near a planer surface of the first side. A lever, such as a pedal or handle, is adjustable in position and combined with an adjustment member. The adjustment member is movable within the channel between first and second positions. However, the adjustment member cannot be removed from the channel through a slot along the top edge. A locking pin, biased in an extended position, is combined with the adjustment member and is movable between the extended position and a retracted position. The flywheel includes a plurality of openings adapted to receive the locking pin in the extended position in order to secure the adjustment member at a particular location within the channel.

The platform holds a person's foot that is either bare or in a shoe. When present, the instep-strap forms an arch extending up above the platform such that the person's foot, with or without a shoe, can be slipped under the arch and rest on the platform. When present, the heel strap encircles the person's foot. A width-adjusting assembly adjusts the tension against the side of the foot to secure it in place on the platform. Paired-strap-posts define a u-shaped-slot between them that is wide enough to receive the strap and restrain a cam buckle that is slidably attachable on each of the straps. A release strap enables a person to pull on the release-strap to remove the buckle from the u-shaped-slot.
