System, software application and method of advanced interaction with transportable containers
A system of advanced interaction with transportable containers, such as suitcases, trolleys, trunks, backpacks, crates, or the like, includes transportable containers, each of which is equipped with a respective transponder which carries at least one corresponding identification code. Each transponder allows polling by a contactless information transmission technology, such as RFID or NFC, for communication at least of the corresponding identification code. The system also includes a remote processing unit, suitable for the management of a central data bank, which contains information related to the transportable containers and to their association with the corresponding identification codes.

Mounting base for a wirelessly locatable tag
A mounting base for use with a wirelessly locatable tag may include a base portion defining a latching member configured to engage a wirelessly locatable tag to releasably retain the wirelessly locatable tag to the mounting base, a contact block attached to the base portion and configured to be positioned at least partially within a battery cavity of the wirelessly locatable tag, the contact block defining a top side and a peripheral side. The mounting base may further include a first conductive member positioned along the peripheral side of the contact block and configured to contact a first battery contact in the battery cavity of the wirelessly locatable tag, a second conductive member outwardly biased from the top side of the contact block, the second conductive member configured to contact a second battery contact in the battery cavity of the tag, and a power cable coupled to the base portion.
Travel Facilitation System
A system for facilitating travel includes a handheld device for weighing luggage that is electronically linked with an application server via a smart device. The device includes electronics disposed within a housing configured to conform to a luggage handle. Lifting the luggage with the device disposed against its handle causes the luggage weight to impart a force onto the housing. This force is sensed by the electronics and converted into a weight measurement that is displayed on the smart device and sent to the application server. Weight measurements stored on the application server can be integrated with airline flight information, such as baggage restrictions, to provide certain advantages. For instance, weight measurements can be retrieved by a traveler to ensure baggage compliance. Additionally, historical luggage data can reviewed by an airline on a flight-based level to prepare for atypical cargo loads or on a traveler-basis to incentivize light baggage travel.

ELECTRONIC LUGGAGE DEVICE
According to an exemplary embodiment, an electronic luggage device may be disclosed. The electronic luggage device may be fully TSA and FAA compliant. The device may be capable of communicating both wirelessly and by wired connection(s) to other devices. The electronic luggage device may also charge other devices by battery and in turn be charged by other electric power facilities. The electronic luggage device may have GPS capabilities, an intelligent “sleep-mode,” multiple various charging and communicatory ports, a recessed telescoping handle fixture, a hidden battery compartment, and a high capacity removable battery. The removable battery may be retained by any locking means understood by a person having ordinary skill in the art. The removable battery may be automatically or manually ejected. This may be accomplished by a spring-loaded force, a slot and rail system, or equivalents as would be understood by a person having ordinary skill in the art.
PROTECTIVE CASE WITH BARCODE SCANNER
Example implementations relate to a protective case with a barcode scanner. For example, the protective case may include a housing with a cavity to house a computing device. The housing may include a display portion to allow a screen of the computing device to be exposed, a back portion opposite the display portion, and a scanning sidewall perpendicular to and between the display portion and the back portion. The protective case may also include a barcode scanner to scan a barcode from the scanning sidewall.
Luggage Tracking System
A luggage tracking system includes at least one article of luggage. A base unit is coupled to the at least one article of luggage. The base unit selectively emits an audible alarm. A remote unit is provided and the remote unit may be carried. The remote unit is in electrical communication with the base unit. The remote unit selectively actuates the base unit to emit the audible alarm. Thus, the base unit may communicate a location of the at least one article of luggage.
Electronic tag device with communication module and associated method
An electronic tag device for cargo or baggage comprising a housing, a microcontroller, a memory, a wireless communications module, and a sensor module. The microcontroller is configured to receive itinerary data via the wireless communications module while the microcontroller is operating in a first mode and store the itinerary data in memory. The itinerary data may include at least a place of departure, a departure time, a place of arrival, and an arrival time. The microcontroller is further configured to enter a second mode based on at least one of the departure time in the itinerary and sensor data received from the sensor module, wherein the wireless communications module is disabled in the second mode, and return to the first mode based on at least one of the arrival time in the itinerary and sensor data received from the sensor module. The microcontroller will communicate with a remote system using the communications module while in the first mode and turn off all communication while in the second mode.
MODIFIABLE DISPLAY DEVICES AND SYSTEMS
A backpack having a modifiable display. The backpack may include an active element arranged on an outer surface of the backpack, a power supply arranged on the backpack, and a controller arranged on the backpack and in electrical communication with the power supply and the active element. In some embodiments, the active element may include one or more drivers. The one or more drivers may be coated in a sealant, such as a rubber sealant. The active element may be a flexible display configured to display, such as an LED, LCD, OLED, AM-OLED, or EPD display. In some embodiments, the backpack may be part of a self-expression kit, and the modifiable display may be removable and configured for coupling to other surfaces. In some embodiments, the backpack may be part of an advertising network having a plurality of wearable articles and a digital marketplace for advertising opportunities.
