Systems and Methods for Detecting Running and Walking Strides and Foot Strikes
20220042865 · 2022-02-10 ·

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for measuring the location, the amplitude, and/or the direction of forces applied to a walking or running surface. An example system includes a pressure-sensitive sheet that extends along a first axis. The pressure-sensitive sheet includes a top surface and a bottom surface. A vertical force applied at a location along at least one of the top surface or the bottom surface forms an electrical path between the top surface and the bottom surface having a resistance, r.sub.f, that is inversely proportional to an amplitude of the vertical force. The system further includes read out circuitry configured to provide information indicative of the amplitude of the vertical force and the location of the vertical force along the first axis of the pressure-sensitive sheet.

LOWER BODY TRAINING ASSIST DEVICE

A lower body assist device for assisting a user while performing lower body workouts is provided. The lower body assist device generally comprises handle bars, a frame, and friction reduction apparatuses. The handle bars generally comprise a shaft and support bar having handles. The frame generally comprises a main trunk and frame supports, wherein said frame supports are connected to said main trunk. The method generally entails obtaining the device, bending over and grasping the device, and moving from a starting location to a desired location. A user may also squat while grasping the device before moving from a starting location to a desired location.

Unweighting devices

An unweighting device of the present specification. The unweighting device generally includes a standalone cage system having a rail, or a plurality of rails, allowing a user to connect thereto. The user of the unweighting system wears a harness. The harness connect to a plurality of flexible bands which connect directly to a roller subassembly. The roller subassembly, which connects to the rail or rails of the cage, allow the user to move in a lateral direction. The bands connected to the user allow the user to move in an up and down direction thereby, when combined with the rolling movement, provide for dynamic movement of the user when using the unweighting device.

AGILITY TRAINING LADDER

An agility training ladder may include a plurality of frame bodies, and each of the frame bodies has a first board and a second board. Each of the first board and the second board has two connecting members respectively at two ends thereof. Each of the first boards comprises two first connecting ribs at two lateral surfaces thereof while each of the second boards has two second connecting ribs at two lateral surfaces thereof. Each of the connecting members comprises two third connecting ribs at two lateral surfaces thereof and two first connecting recesses at two ends thereof, and the first connecting recesses are communicated with the lateral surfaces of the connecting members. The first boards and the second boards are connected through the connecting members, and the first connecting recess is adapted to slide along to the first, second or third connecting rib.

An exercise step, usable for any of a variety of step exercises, can include a solid top surface that may be polygonal in shape. At least a portion of an underside of the exercise step can be formed in a honeycomb configuration, thereby reducing weight of the step as well as the material required to make the step. Handles may be formed by indentations in sides of the step for ease of lifting and positioning. The handles may be formed in opposites of the polygonal shape. In some embodiments, the polygonal shape may be symmetrical or may include longer and shorter sides in an alternating arrangement. At least a portion of the bottom of the step can be formed from an anti-slip material.

Resistive device employing eddy current braking

A resistive device that enables adjustable resistance in at least one direction using an attachment system and associated eddy current braking system. The resistive device can be bench-mounted, in some embodiments, used for physical therapy caused by neuromuscular diseases, such as stroke and cerebral palsy, orthopedic disorders, general disuse, or even for overall fitness.

Aquatic exercise system

An aquatic exercise system may include a water tank including a watertight entrance that may allow a user enter and exit the water tank. The aquatic exercise system may further include a vertical watertight gate that may be disposed within the water tank and divide an interior of the water tank into a first tank portion and a second tank portion, a treadmill assembly that may be disposed within the second tank portion, and a water circulation mechanism that may be connected in fluid communication with the first tank portion and the second tank portion and transfer the water between the first tank portion and the second tank portion.

A tool for training and evaluating a motion control function through vision while the direction and range of motion is restricted by the tool, and a method for using the same, and to improve storage convenience. A training tool is configured such that lattices are formed by using a belt having a width (S) in a vertical direction and a horizontal direction to be spread out and placed on the floor or the ground. The training tool is formed from a plurality of lattices arranged in vertical and horizontal squares, and the length of a lattice in any one of the vertical and horizontal columns is the length of (L-S) that is shorter by the width of the belt than the length (L) of each of lattices in other columns, whereby the tool is foldable such that the tool is integrated to overlap with one lattice.
