An exhaust component for a motor vehicle with improved corrosion resistance, including an internal volume, an inlet for receiving exhaust gas, and an outlet for expelling exhaust gas. The exhaust component includes at least one wall that is made of a diffusion surface alloyed metal sheet. The diffusion surface alloyed metal sheet comprises a secondary metal that is formed to a primary metal substrate by diffusion. A weld bead is applied to at least one of the edges of the diffusion surface alloyed metal sheet for edge protection or to join the edge of the diffusion surface alloyed metal sheet to another diffusion surface alloyed metal sheet. The weld bead includes a high chromium content filler metal to protect the weld bead and the primary metal substrate at the weld joint from corrosion.
High-strength hot-dipped steel sheet having excellent coating adhesion and method for manufacturing same
There is provided a high-strength hot-dipped steel sheet having excellent coating adhesion and a method for manufacturing the steel sheet. The steel sheet has a chemical composition, and a coating layer is disposed on the steel sheet. The chemical composition includes, by mass %, C: 0.02% or greater and 0.30% or less, Si: 0.01% or greater and 2.0% or less, Mn: 0.2% or greater and 3.0% or less, P: 0.08% or less, S: 0.02% or less, and Al: 0.001% or greater and 0.40% or less, with the balance being Fe and incidental impurities. The coating layer has a coating weight per side of 30 to 90 g/m.sup.2 and contains exfoliated base steel in an amount of 0.3 to 1.5 g/m.sup.2.

Provided is a steel sheet for a hot press formed member having excellent painting adhesion and post-painting corrosion resistance, and a method for manufacturing the same. A steel sheet for hot press forming according to one aspect of the present invention comprises a base steel sheet and a plated layer formed on a surface of the base steel sheet, wherein the ratio of an area occupied by pores to the entire area of a surface layer portion may be 10% or more in a cross section of the surface layer portion observed when the plated layer is cut in a thickness direction thereof.

To provide a railway wheel which is excellent in corrosion fatigue resistance. The railway wheel according to the present embodiment has a chemical composition consisting of: in mass %, C: 0.65 to 0.80%, Si: 0.10 to 1.0%, Mn: 0.10 to 1.0%, P: not more than 0.030%, S: not more than 0.030%, Cr: 0.05 to 0.20%, Sn: 0.005 to 0.50%, Al: 0.010 to 0.050%, N: 0.0020 to 0.015%, Cu: 0 to 0.20%, Ni: 0 to 0.20%, Mo: 0 to 0.20%, V: 0 to 0.20%, Nb: 0 to 0.030%, and Ti: 0 to 0.030%, with the balance being Fe and impurities. A plate portion has a matrix structure composed of pearlite.
Electro-spark deposition of molybdenum on stainless steel and products thereof
Molybdenum is alloyed into stainless steel surface by electro-spark deposition technique. Shielding gas is used during electro-spark deposition process to minimize the oxidation of materials. Control of electro-spark voltage, frequency, capacitance, time can determine the alloying depth of Molybdenum. The alloyed surface thickness varies from 5 μm to 80 μm depending on the electro-spark deposition parameters. The alloyed surface comprises, by weight, 15 to 40% of Molybdenum, 8 to 22% of Cr, 0-15% of other alloy elements and impurities. The molybdenum alloyed stainless steel surface exhibits improvement in micro-hardness, wear resistance, and especially corrosion resistance in sodium chloride solutions. Thus, the present invention would be utilized in marine and handling of brines application, as well as in other applications which better corrosion resistance of stainless steel is desired.

A steel sheet includes a hot-dip galvanized layer or a galvannealed layer on a surface of the steel sheet, the steel sheet including: in mass %, C: 0.06% or more and 0.22% or less; Si: 0.50% or more and 2.00% or less; Mn: 1.50% or more and 2.80% or less; Al: 0.02% or more and 1.00% or less; P: 0.001% or more and 0.100% or less; S: 0.0005% or more and 0.0100% or less; N: 0.0005% or more and 0.0100% or less; and a balance: Fe and impurities.
High-strength corrosion-resistant composite chequered iron and manufacturing method therefor
Disclosed are a high-strength corrosion-resistant cladding chequered steel and a manufacturing method therefor. The high-strength corrosion-resistant cladding chequered steel includes a substrate and a chequered cladding layer cladded on the substrate by single-sided or double-sided rolling. The mass percentages of the chemical elements of the substrate are: C: 0.01% to 0.20%, Si: 0.10% to 0.5%, Mn: 0.5% to 2.0%, Al: 0.02% to 0.04%, Ti: 0.005% to 0.018%, Nb: 0.005% to 0.020%, 0<B≤0.0003%, N≤0.006%, and the balance being steel and other inevitable impurities. The high-strength corrosion-resistant cladding steel plate has a high strength, a high corrosion resistance, a yield strength ≥470 MPa, a tensile strength ≥610 MPa, a shear strength ≥410 MPa, and an elongation ≥40%.
High-strength hot-dip coated hot-rolled steel sheet and method for manufacturing the same
A high-strength hot-dip coated hot-rolled steel sheet excellent in terms of surface appearance quality and coating adhesiveness and a method for manufacturing. The method includes performing hot rolling followed by pickling on steel to form a pickled steel sheet, the steel having a chemical composition containing, by mass %, C: 0.02% or more and 0.30% or less, Si: 0.01% or more and 1.0% or less, Mn: 0.3% or more and 2.5% or less, P: 0.08% or less, S: 0.02% or less, Al: 0.001% or more and 0.20% or less, and Fe and inevitable impurities. The method further includes performing rolling with a rolling reduction ratio of 1% or more and 10% or less, and a hot-dip coating treatment. The obtained steel sheet has an arithmetic average roughness Ra of 2.0 μm or less on the surface of the steel sheet, and a tensile strength of 590 MPa or more.
Hot-pressed member and method for manufacturing same, and cold-rolled steel sheet for hot pressing and method for manufacturing same
Disclosed is a hot-pressed member that can exhibit very high tensile strength after hot pressing as high as TS: 1780 MPa or more and excellent delayed fracture resistance after projection welding by properly adjusting its chemical composition and its microstructure such that at least 5 Ti-based precipitates having a grain size of 0.10 μm or less are present on average per 100 μm.sup.2 of a cross section parallel to a thickness direction of the member within a range of 100 μm in a thickness direction from a surface of the member, a volume fraction of martensite is 95% to 100% within a depth range of 20 μm to 100 μm in the thickness direction from the surface of the member, and at least 10 cementite grains having a grain size of less than 0.20 μm are present on average in a prior austenite grain.

The high-strength hot-rolled coated steel sheet includes a steel sheet having a chemical composition containing, by mass %, C: 0.03% to 0.09%, Si: 0.01% to 1.60%, Mn: 2.20% to 3.60%, P: 0.100% or less, S: 0.0100% or less, Ti: 0.05% to 0.18%, B: 0.0005% to 0.0050%, Al: 0.005% to 0.40%, N: 0.010% or less, and a balance of Fe and inevitable impurities, in which a CSM value expressed by the equation 33.8[% C][% Mn]+12.4[% Si]/[% Mn] is 3.3 to 12.0, and a steel microstructure containing bainite in an amount of 85% or more in terms of area fraction and martensite in an amount of 2.0% or more and 15.0% or less in terms of area fraction and includes a coating layer or an alloyed coating layer on a surface of the steel sheet.
