GOLF BALL

An object of the present invention is to provide a golf ball having an excellent initial velocity when being hit at a head speed of 50 m/sec and an improved initial velocity when being hit at a head speed of 40 m/sec. The present invention provides a golf ball comprising a spherical core and at least one cover covering the spherical core, wherein the spherical core is formed from a core rubber composition containing (a) a base rubber, (b) a co-crosslinking agent, (c) a crosslinking initiator and (x) a crosslinked rubber powder, and (x) the crosslinked rubber powder is formed from a rubber composition containing (a1) a base rubber, (b1) a co-crosslinking agent, (c1) a crosslinking initiator and (r) a resin component.

Golf ball materials based on blends of polyamide and acid anhydride-modified polyolefins

Multi-piece golf balls having at least one layer made from a polyamide non-ionomeric composition are provided. The polyamide composition consists essentially of about 40 to about 99% by weight polyamide; about 1 to about 60% by weight of an acid anhydride-modified polyolefin; and about 1 to about 60% of a fatty acid additive selected from the group consisting of fatty acid salts, fatty acid amides, and mixtures thereof. The ball includes a core, preferably a dual core construction; and a cover of at least one layer. In another preferred construction, a multi-layered core containing an inner, intermediate, and outer core layer is made. For example, the intermediate core layer may be made of a rubber composition; and each of the inner core and outer core layers may be made of the polyamide composition. The resulting ball has high resiliency along with a soft feel.

GOLF BALLS HAVING REDUCED DISTANCE

Golf balls having core formulations including polybutadiene, butyl rubber, or a blend thereof, and low surface coverage dimple patterns are disclosed. The combination of low surface coverage with particular rubber formulations helps to reduce the flight of the ball while also providing improved aerodynamic consistency and maintaining the appearance of a high-performance trajectory.

Rubber composition and crosslinked rubber molded product

An object of the present disclosure is to provide a rubber composition from which a crosslinked rubber molded product having good softness and excellent resilience performance can be obtained. The present disclosure provides a rubber composition containing (a) a base rubber, (b) an ,-unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 8 carbon atoms and/or a metal salt thereof as a co-crosslinking agent, (c) a crosslinking initiator, and (d) a benzothiazole derivative, and further comprising (e) a metal compound when (b) the co-crosslinking agent consists of the ,-unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 8 carbon atoms, wherein (d) the benzothiazole derivative is a compound represented by the formula (1) and/or a compound represented by the formula (2). ##STR00001## [R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, an aryl group having 4 to 14 carbon atoms, or a metal atom, R.sup.2 to R.sup.5 are identical to or different from each other, and represent an electron-withdrawing group or a hydrogen atom, and at least one of R.sup.3 to R.sup.5 is an electron-withdrawing group.]
