Surface coated polyester-based fibrous substrate
This invention relates to polyester-based fibrous substrates being surface coated at least partially with a coating composition comprising perfluoropolyethers. Processes of application of the coating compositions are also provided. The polyester-based fibrous substrates after surface coating have improved wear and/or abrasion resistance relative to uncoated fibrous substrates.
Fibers sized with polyethereketoneketones
Fibers sized with a coating of amorphous polyetherketoneketone are useful in the preparation of reinforced polymers having improved properties, wherein the amorphous polyetherketoneketone can improve the compatibility of the fibers with the polymeric matrix.
Rod shaped body and medical device
The present invention relates to a medical device. In particular, the present invention concerns a medical device which can be detected by means of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Electrically conductive synthetic fiber and fibrous substrate, method of making, and use thereof
Electrically conductive synthetic fiber and fibrous substrate (e.g. synthetic leather) are disclosed. The electrically conductive polymeric fiber and polymeric fibrous substrate are made electrically conductive by the use of an electrically conductive polymer disposed on the fibers and in contact with inorganic desiccant particles located at the surface of the fibers. The new material finds utility as an electrode for devices and as a resistive heating element, and as a pathway to efficient thermoelectrics.
Grafted para-aramid fiber and method of making
A fiber comprising poly(p-phenylene terephthalamide) having monomers such as N-(4-vinylphenyl)maleimide grafted onto the fiber surface.
Composite reinforcer
Composite reinforcer (R-2) that is self-adhesive, by curing, to a diene rubber matrix, which can be used as reinforcing element for a pneumatic tire, comprising: one or more reinforcing thread(s) (20), for example a carbon steel cord; a first layer (21) of a thermoplastic polymer, the glass transition temperature of which is positive, for example a polyamide, covering said thread, individually each thread or collectively several threads; a second layer (22) of a composition comprising a poly(p-phenylene ether) (PPE) and a functionalized diene elastomer bearing functional groups selected from epoxide, carboxyl, acid anhydride and acid ester groups, in particular an epoxidized SBR, covering the first layer (21). Process for manufacturing such a composite reinforcer and rubber article or semi-finished product, especially a pneumatic tire, incorporating such a composite reinforcer.
ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE METAL-COATED FIBERS, CONTINUOUS PROCESS FOR PREPARATION THEREOF, AND USE THEREOF
In various embodiments, the present application provides electrically conductive metal-plated fibers and continuous processes of preparing metal-plated fibers. Additionally, provided are polymeric articles comprising the provided metal-plated fibers or other fibers prepared by the provided process, said articles having electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness.
