Graphene core for a golf ball with a soft cover
A golf ball with a core comprising polybutadiene and graphene, and a soft cover is disclosed herein. The golf ball has a dual core with an outer core comprising polybutadiene and graphene. The soft cover is preferably composed of a highly neutralized polymer, a first ionomer, a second ionomer, and a paraloid impact modifier.
Golf ball with electrical components
A golf ball comprising an electrical component is disclosed herein. The electrical component comprises an integrated circuit having a gyroscope, a magnetometer, and a BLUETOOTH low energy (BTLE) radio, and at least one battery. A body is composed of an epoxy material, and the body encompasses the electrical component.
RESIN COMPOSITION FOR GOLF BALLS, AND GOLF BALL
A golf ball resin composition includes (a) an olefin-,-unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer and/or a metal ion neutralization product thereof or an olefin-,-unsaturated carboxylic acid-,-unsaturated carboxylic acid ester copolymer and/or a metal ion neutralization product thereof, (b) a phenolic resin and (c) a compound having at least two oxazoline groups per molecule, wherein the content of component (C) is from 0.1 to 5 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of components (a) and (b) combined. The resin composition has excellent tensile properties and, when used in a golf ball, provides the ball with an excellent durability without lowering the spin performance and distance performance of the ball. The resin is especially useful as a golf ball cover material for an outermost layer or an intermediate layer.
Golf ball with softer feel and high iron spin
A golf ball comprising: (a) a core; (b) at least one mantle layer adjacent to the core; (c) an inner cover layer adjacent to the mantle layer; and (d) an outer cover layer adjacent to the inner cover layer, wherein the inner cover layer has a material Shore D hardness that is at least 3 less than the material Shore D hardness of the outer cover layer, and the inner cover layer has a thickness of less than 0.050 in.
Multi-piece solid golf ball
In a multi-piece solid golf ball having a core, a cover and an intermediate layer therebetween, the core, an intermediate layer-encased sphere and the ball have surface hardnesses which satisfy a specific relationship, and the intermediate layer and the cover have thicknesses which satisfy a specific relationship. Also, the core has a hardness profile in which the hardnesses at the core surface, core center, a position 5 mm from the core center, and a position midway between the surface and center of the core satisfy specific relationships. This golf ball, when used by mid- and high-level amateurs, enables the golfer to maintain an adequate distance on shots with a driver and achieve a good distance on iron shots, has a good spin performance on approach shots and has a good feel on impact. In addition, the ball has an excellent scuff resistance when struck with a grooved wedge.
Multi-piece solid golf ball
In a golf ball having a two-layer core consisting of an inner core layer and an outer core layer, an intermediate layer and a cover, the core is formed primarily of a base rubber, the diameter of the inner core layer is at least 21 mm, the intermediate layer and cover are each formed primarily of a resin material, the overall core has a specific hardness profile, the inner core layer has a higher specific gravity than the outer core layer, and the sphere consisting of the core encased by the intermediate layer has a higher surface hardness than the ball. This golf ball has a high initial velocity at impact while holding down the spin rate on full shots with a driver or long iron, enabling a good distance to be achieved. The ball also has a good controllability in the short game.
GOLF BALL
An object of the present invention is to provide a golf ball having excellent resilience performance. The present invention provides a golf ball comprising a constituent member, wherein at least a part of the constituent member is formed from a rubber composition containing (a) a base rubber, (b) a co-crosslinking agent, (c) a crosslinking initiator, and (d) an organic sulfur compound, wherein (d) the organic sulfur compound contains at least one member selected from the group consisting of a thiophenol having a halogenated sulfanyl group, a metal salt of a thiophenol having a halogenated sulfanyl group, and a diphenyl disulfide having a halogenated sulfanyl group.
Use of an impact modifier in a low compression golf ball
A golf ball with improved durability is disclosed herein. The golf ball has a core comprising a polybutadiene material and methyl methacrylate, butadiene, styrene (MBS) with a weight percentage of MBS ranging from 0.5 to 5 weight percent of the core.
GOLF BALL
An object of the present invention is to improve the durability of the golf ball without substantially lowering the spin performance. The present invention provides a golf ball comprising a spherical core and a cover covering the spherical core, wherein the cover contains: (A) a base resin component, and (B) resin fine particles containing a polyrotaxane component having a cyclodextrin, a linear molecule penetrating the cyclic structure of the cyclodextrin in a skewering manner, and blocking groups located at both terminals of the linear molecule to prevent disassociation of the cyclodextrin, wherein at least a part of hydroxyl groups of the cyclodextrin is modified with a caprolactone chain via a OC.sub.3H.sub.6O group.
GOLF BALL
A golf ball strikes a good balance between the durability and the shot feeling, and includes a spherical core and at least one cover disposed outside the spherical core. At least one layer of the cover contains (A) a base resin and (B) a resin fine particle, (A) the base resin contains an ionomer resin, and (B) the resin fine particles contain a polyrotaxane component having a cyclodextrin, a linear molecule penetrating the cyclic structure of the cyclodextrin in a skewering manner, and blocking groups located at both terminals of the linear molecule to prevent disassociation of the cyclodextrin wherein at least a part of hydroxyl groups of the cyclodextrin is modified with a caprolactone chain via a OC.sub.3H.sub.6O group.
