Golf ball
A golf ball includes a core, a mid layer, and a cover. A ratio R1 calculated by mathematical formula (1): R1=(Df1−Df2)/(Df2−Df3) is not less than 5.00. A ratio R2 calculated by mathematical formula (2): R2=(T2*H2)/H3 is not less than 2.00. A ratio R3 calculated by mathematical formula (3): R3=D1/T3 is less than 50. In mathematical formulas (1) to (3), Df1 represents an amount of compressive deformation of the core, Df2 represents an amount of compressive deformation of a sphere including the core and the mid layer, Df3 represents an amount of compressive deformation of the golf ball, T2 represents a thickness of the mid layer, H2 represents a hardness of the mid layer, H3 represents a hardness of the cover, D1 represents a diameter of the core, and T3 represents a thickness of the cover.
GOLF BALL
A formulation for making at least one element of a golf ball, wherein the formulation includes: (i) from 50 weight percent to 95 weight percent of a thermoplastic composition comprising: (1) at least one ethylene acid copolymer consisting essentially of copolymerized comonomers of: (A) ethylene, and (B) from 5 weight percent to 25 weight percent of at least one α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid having from 3 carbon atoms to 8 carbon atoms, based on the total weight of monomers present in the ethylene acid copolymer; wherein the acid moieties of component (1) are neutralized to a level of from 25 percent to 220 percent; and (ii) from 5 weight percent to 50 weight percent of a crosslinked material having a gel content of at least 80 weight percent, wherein the crosslinked material is a crosslinked elastomer, a crosslinked rubber, or a blend of a crosslinked elastomer and a crosslinked rubber; a process for making the above formulation; at least one element of a multilayer golf ball and a process for making the at least one element of a multilayer golf ball using the above formulation; a multilayer golf ball including (a) at least one core, and (b) a cover; wherein the at least one core is made from the above formulation; and a process of manufacturing the above multilayer golf ball.
GOLF BALL
An object of the present disclosure is to provide a golf ball having excellent durability and flight distance and good shot feeling for an average golfer who hits a golf ball at a slow head speed. The present disclosure provides a golf ball comprising a spherical core and at least two cover layers covering the spherical core, wherein a difference between a core surface crosslinking density and a core center crosslinking density is more than 1.0×10.sup.2 mol/m.sup.3 and less than 9.0×10.sup.2 mol/m.sup.3, a hardness difference between a core surface hardness Cs (Shore C hardness) and a core center hardness Co (Shore C hardness) is 13.0 or more and 30.0 or less, a compression deformation amount of the core when applying a load from an initial load of 98 N to a final load of 1275 N to the core is 3.8 mm or more, and the at least two cover layers include a first cover layer and a second cover layer positioned closer to the spherical core than the first cover layer, an average hardness Dave=(Ti×Hi+To×Ho)/(Ti+To) of the first cover layer and the second cover layer is 55 or more, where To (mm) is a thickness of the first cover layer, Ho (Shore D) is a slab hardness of the first cover layer, Ti (mm) is a thickness of the second cover layer, and Hi (Shore D) is a slab hardness of the second cover layer.
Use of an impact modifier in a low compression golf ball
A golf ball with improved durability is disclosed herein. The golf ball has a core comprising a polybutadiene material and methyl methacrylate, butadiene, styrene (MBS) with a weight percentage of MBS ranging from 0.5 to 5 weight percent of the core.
Multi-piece solid golf ball
In a golf ball having a core, envelope layer, intermediate layer and cover, the (core diameter)/(ball diameter) value falls within a particular range, the core has a specific hardness profile, the intermediate layer is formed primarily of an ionomer resin material including a high-acid ionomer resin, and the Shore C hardness relationships among the core center and surface hardnesses and the surface hardnesses of the envelope layer-encased sphere, intermediate layer-encased sphere and ball satisfy the following conditions: (1) core surface hardness<surface hardness of envelope layer-encased sphere<surface hardness of intermediate layer-encased sphere>ball surface hardness, (2) (surface hardness of envelope layer-encased sphere)−(core center hardness)≥28. Also, the intermediate layer and cover have respective thicknesses which satisfy the condition: (3) cover thickness<intermediate layer thickness. This ball enables mid-level and skilled amateur golfers to achieve superior distances on driver shots and on iron shots, and moreover has a soil yet good feel at impact.
GOLF BALL
In a golf ball for professional golfers and skilled amateurs which has a single-layer core, a cover and at least one intermediate layer therebetween, the sphere obtained by encasing the core with the intermediate layer (intermediate layer-encased sphere) and the ball have a surface hardness relationship which satisfies the condition:
(surface hardness of intermediate layer-encased sphere)>(surface hardness of ball).
The core has a diameter of from 35.5 to 39.5 mm and a distinctive hardness profile that satisfies specific conditions. The ball is endowed with both an excellent flight performance and excellent durability to repeated impact.
Graphene core for a golf ball
A golf ball with a core comprising polybutadiene and graphene is disclosed herein. The golf ball has a single core comprising polybutadiene and graphene. Alternatively, the golf ball has a dual core with an inner core comprising polybutadiene and graphene. Alternatively, the golf ball has a dual core with an outer core comprising polybutadiene and graphene.
Rubber composition for golf ball, and golf ball
A rubber composition for golf balls includes (A) a base rubber, (B) an acrylate ester or methacrylate ester containing an isocyanate group or a blocked isocyanate group, (C) diacrylic acid, dimethacrylic acid or a metal salt thereof, and (D) an organic peroxide. In a golf ball having a core formed of the rubber composition and a cover of one or more layers which encases the core, the rubber composition exhibits a spin rate-lowering effect on shots and can thus improve the flight performance of the ball.
