Golf ball
The golf ball 1 includes a surface having multiple dimples thereon. When a lift coefficient measured under conditions with a Reynolds number of 80000 and a spin rate of 2000 rpm is CL1, and when a lift coefficient measured under conditions with a Reynolds number of 70000 and a spin rate of 1900 rpm is CL2, CL1 and CL2 satisfy 0.990CL2/CL1.
Golf ball
A golf ball has a plurality of dimples 12 and a land 14 on a surface thereof. The golf ball further has a large number of minute projections 18 formed on surfaces of the dimples 12 and the land 14. An average depth Fav of the dimples 12 and an average height Hav of the minute projections satisfy the following mathematical formula (1).
Hav/Fav0.050(1)
A ratio M (%) of a sum of areas of all the dimples 12 relative to a surface area of a phantom sphere of the golf ball and an average value Pav (m) of pitches P each between a minute projection 18 and another minute projection 18 adjacent to this minute projection 18 satisfy the following mathematical formula (2).
M/Pav>0.3(2)
Golf ball
An object of the present invention is to provide a golf ball comprising a paint film having improved abrasion resistance without substantially lowering the spin performance. The present invention provides a golf ball comprising a golf ball body and a paint film formed on a surface of the golf ball body, wherein the paint film contains a resin fine particle in an amount of less than 10 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of a base resin thereof, the base resin of the paint film is a polyurethane, and the resin fine particle contains a polyrotaxane component having a cyclodextrin, a linear molecule penetrating the cyclic structure of the cyclodextrin in a skewering manner, and a blocking group located at both terminals of the linear molecule to prevent disassociation of the cyclodextrin, wherein at least a part of hydroxyl groups of the cyclodextrin is modified with a caprolactone chain via a OC.sub.3H.sub.6O group.
Golf ball
A golf ball includes a main body and a paint layer positioned outside the main body. The paint layer includes an inner layer and an outer layer positioned outside the inner layer. When an indentation depth (nm) is measured on a cross-section along a plane passing through a central point of the golf ball when a force of 30 mgf is applied to the cross-section in a direction perpendicular to the cross-section, an indentation depth Di on a cross-section of the inner layer is smaller than an indentation depth Do on a cross-section of the outer layer. A thickness To of the outer layer is larger than a thickness Ti of the inner layer.
GOLF BALL
An object of the present invention is to provide a golf ball having excellent durability. The present invention provides a golf ball comprising a core and at least one cover layer covering the core, wherein the core is formed from a core rubber composition containing (a) a base rubber, (b) an ,-unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 8 carbon atoms and/or a metal salt thereof as a co-crosslinking agent, (c) a crosslinking initiator, and (d) a hindered phenol compound, and (b) the co-crosslinking agent and (d) the hindered phenol compound are blended in the core rubber composition such that the following expression (1) is satisfied:
0.04HF/B0.35(1) in the formula (1), HF=a number of OH functional group in one molecule of (d) the hindered phenol compoundan amount of (d) the hindered phenol compound (mole) with respect to 100 parts by mass of (a) the base rubber, and B=an amount of (b) the co-crosslinking agent (mole) with respect to 100 parts by mass of (a) the base rubber.
Golf ball compositions
Disclosed herein are heterogeneous golf ball compositions comprising a matrix formed from a thermosetting polymer composition and discrete particles of crosslinked rubber dispersed within the matrix.
Resin composition for golf balls, and golf ball
A resin composition for golf balls is made of (A) polyurethane or polyurea and (B) an acrylic resin or a methacrylic resin, component (B) being included in an amount of from 0.5 to 50 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of component (A). In a golf ball having a core and a cover of one or more layer encasing the core, at least one cover layer is formed of this resin composition. The resin composition is especially useful as a golf ball cover material because it makes it possible to achieve a higher ball initial velocity on shots with a driver and a lower ball initial velocity on approach shots.
GOLF BALLS HAVING A HOLLOW CORE AND INTERNAL SKELETAL STRUCTURE
The present invention generally relates to golf balls having an internal skeletal structure that can be self-supporting. The golf ball preferably contains a spherical hollow inner core that is gas or liquid-filled. The ball further comprises an outer shell skeletal structure having a spherical shape and containing apertures that form hollow compartments. In one version, the skeletal structure supports itself and the space inside and around the skeletal structure is hollow. In another embodiment, the space is solid, for example, it may be foam-filled. In yet another version, the hollow space is filled with liquid. Multi-piece golf balls having outer cores, inner covers, and intermediate layers can be made.
MINIMAL SURFACE GOLF BALL COMPONENTS
The present invention provides a novel golf ball construction including a structural core component based on a minimal surface design. The structural core component has an envelope shape and consists of a minimal surface and an interstitial space, the minimal surface and interstitial space being bounded by the envelope shape of the structural component. The minimal surface is a single continuous surface which does not intersect itself and has zero mean curvature.
Golf balls with aerodynamic subsurfaces
The present invention provides a golf ball having an aerodynamic subsurface for packing dimples. More particularly, the invention relates to a golf ball having an exterior surface and at least a first subsurface containing at least two dimples located solely on the subsurface and lying below the exterior surface of the golf ball. A transition zone between the exterior surface and the subsurface is disclosed having an angle of transition and a top radius and a bottom radius. According to the present invention, the exterior surface and at least the first subsurface have at least a first and second surface textures that are different.
