COMPUTATIONALLY CUSTOMIZING INSTRUCTIONAL CONTENT
20220370882 · 2022-11-24 ·

A computing system causes instructional media to be played on a device to a user. An instructor in the instructional media provides guidance as to how to perform an activity when the instructional media is played on the device. The computing system obtains user data pertaining to performance of the activity by the user. The computing system generates a user-customized portion of the instructional media based upon the user data and a computer-implemented model. The computing system causes the user-customized portion to be played on the device to the user, where the device emits audible words reproduced in a voice of the instructor, where the audible words are based upon the user data, and further where the device displays generated images of the instructor depicting the instructor speaking the audible words as the device emits the audible words.

METHOD FOR GENERATING POSITION SIGNALS WHILE USING A VIRTUAL REALITY HEADSET
20220370883 · 2022-11-24 ·

A method controls a piece of exercise equipment when a user of the exercise equipment is using a virtual reality headset. The method begins by receiving sensor inputs detecting a position of the user with respect to the exercise equipment. An operational zone of the exercise equipment is then determined. It is then identified when the user is moving toward a warning area within the operational zone of the exercise equipment. The method then sends signals to the virtual reality headset. Based on the signals, the virtual reality headset creates audible and visual outputs to instruct the user to move back fully into the operational zone of the exercise equipment.

An interactive exercise apparatus for guiding a user to perform an exercise includes a frame, a mirror, a display device, a driving mechanism, and a control unit. The mirror is movably mounted on the frame and configured to reflect an image of the user. The display device is disposed on a backside of the mirror and visible through the mirror. The driving mechanism is configured to drive the mirror to move with respect to the frame. The control unit is operable to control the driving mechanism according to a location of the user so as to control the mirror to move to a suitable position where the user can see their reflected image.

VIRTUAL TASTINGS AND GUIDED TOURS FOR AUGMENTED REALITY EXPERIENCES
20220362631 · 2022-11-17 ·

Example systems, devices, media, and methods are described for presenting a virtual guided fitness experience using the display of an eyewear device in augmented reality. A guided fitness application implements and controls the capturing of frames of motion data using an inertial measurement unit (IMU) and video data from one or more cameras. The method includes detecting exercise motions (with or without equipment) as well as detecting and counting repetitions. Relevant data about detected motions or equipment is retrieved and used to curate the guided fitness experience. A current rep count is presented on the display along with an avatar for playing messages, performing animated demonstrations, responding to commands and queries using speech recognition, and presenting guided fitness instructions through text, audio, and video.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SPORTS AND MOVEMENT TRAINING

A platform for interactive sports and movement training is disclosed. The platform allows a trainer to: upload a step-by-step training video for a challenge via a trainer user interface for access by a plurality of trainees; receive videos of individual trainees performing the steps of the training video; provide feedback to the trainees regarding how they can improve their performance associated with each of the steps of the training video; and indicate when a trainee can access a next step in the step-by-step training, until all movements have been mastered. The platform allows a user to access a first step of a step-by-step training video via a user interface; upload a video of the user performing the first step; receive feedback, via the user interface, from a trainer; and when the feedback indicates that the user is ready, access a next step of the training video.

Virtual scene interactive rehabilitation training robot based on lower limb connecting rod model and force sense information and control method thereof

A virtual scene interactive rehabilitation training robot based on a lower limb connecting rod model and force sense information and a control method thereof are disclosed. The thigh, calf and foot of a leg of a human body are equated to a three-connecting rod series-connected mechanical arm. A human body leg gravity compensation model is constructed. The leg posture of a patient is detected by Kinect. An interaction force between a limb of the patient and a rehabilitation robot is detected by a force sensor on the rehabilitation robot. Then, a progressive rehabilitation training method is designed for the model. According to a set weight reduction ratio, the motion of the rehabilitation robot is controlled by judging plantar force data.
