LEG PAD
A leg pad (e.g., a hockey leg pad) for protecting a leg of a user, in which the leg pad is designed to enhance protection and freedom of movement (e.g., during skating strides), such as by providing flexibility of the leg pad proximate to a knee and optionally an ankle of the user (e.g., for extension and optional retraction of one or more parts of the leg pad) to better follow natural movements of the user's leg (e.g., bending of the knee and optional flexion of the ankle of the user).
Body impact protection system
A body impact protection system includes an inner layer and an impact force dampening and defusing structure. The inner layer includes a material composition and is adjacent to a body part when the body impact protection system is worn. The impact force dampening and defusing structure is juxtaposed to the inner layer and includes a plurality of components. The components function to reduce pressure on the body part from an impact force on a layer by layer basis. Each layer of the system dampens and defuses the impact force such that, by the time it reaches the body part, it has been substantially attenuated and spread over a large area.
Hinged leg guard
The present invention relates to a hinged leg guard that may be used by catchers in diamond sports like baseball or softball. The hinged leg guard preferably includes a thigh guard, knee guard, shin guard that may be attached to one another by a flexible fabric. The thigh guard and shin guard also are preferably attached to a double hinge member that allows them to move relative to the knee guard. The knee guard also is preferably coupled to the double hinge member. When the hinged leg guard alternates between the extended and contracted position, an extension member of the knee guard preferably translates in one translational degree of freedom within a receiver of the hinge member. The translational movement preferably helps to keep the knee guard adjacent to the knee when a wearer crouches.
ADJUSTABLE LEG GUARD FOR A CATCHER
A shin guard may include an upper shin guard piece and a lower shin guard piece removably connected and overlapping the upper shin guard piece. A leg guard may include a toe guard releasably connected to a shin guard by a hook and loop fastener. A leg guard may include a knee guard, a thigh guard and a continuous flexible band underlying and connecting the thigh guard and the knee guard.
HOCKEY-GOALKEEPER PADS
Hockey-goalkeeper pads wearable on body parts (e.g., legs) of a hockey goalkeeper to protect these body parts against impacts from a projectile (i.e., puck or ball) while playing hockey, in which the hockey-goalkeeper pads may be configured to enhance performance, use, and/or other aspects of goalkeeping by the hockey goalkeeper, such as by being more durable (e.g., reducing crushing of padding material), improving rebounding of the projectile (e.g., increasing a rebound speed of the projectile and/or a coefficient of restitution), and/or facilitating their donning and securing by the hockey goalkeeper (e.g., connecting to skates).
Impedance-based impact determination and scoring
A conductive material of a plurality of separate conductive materials are coupled to a first participant, the conductive material configured to move when the first participant delivers an impact to a second participant. An impedance-based impact sensing mechanism including an impedance changing mechanism that changes impedance as the conductive material is moved towards and away from the impedance changing mechanism as the first participant delivers the impact. An impedance-based impact measuring scoring system determines that the impact occurred based on a change in impedance in the impedance changing mechanism.
FOOTWEAR PLATE
A plate for an article of footwear includes a substrate, a first strand portion attached to the substrate via first stitching, and a second strand portion disposed on the first layer. The first strand portion includes first segments that each extend between two different locations along the substrate to form a first layer on the substrate. The second strand portion includes second segments that each extend between two different locations along the substrate to form a second layer on the first layer.
COIL PROTECTION ASSEMBLY
The present disclosure includes a coil protection assembly configured to be incorporated into a piece of sports equipment such as a glove, shin guard, or shoulder pad. The coil protection assembly may include a coil element spiraled to form a plurality of loops. The coil protection assembly may also have a foam layer disposed on the interior surface of the coil element. An outer layer may enclose or encase the coil element and the foam layer with the loops free to move with respect to one another, A strip of liner material may be secured to the outer layer to connect the loop together. The liner material may be an elastic material to allow the loops to move away from each other, yet still retract back to a default position.
Remoldable impact-attenuation article
Aspects herein provide for a remoldable article configured to attenuate or reduce the results of an impact. The article comprises a plate that is remoldable in a temperature range of about 41 degrees Celsius to about 43.3 degrees Celsius.
