A hairstyling apparatus is shown. The apparatus includes a heated barrel with a central axis. It also includes a heating element connected with the barrel and a rotating member located an end of the barrel and configured to rotate around the central axis of the barrel. The rotating member includes at least one a tab extending along a longitudinal length of the hairstyling surface over at least a portion of a longitudinally extending portion of the hairstyling surface. At least one rod with at least one comb attached to said at least one tab. The rod is heated by the heating element during use of the apparatus.
Variable diameter adjustable hair tool
A variable diameter adjustable hair tool that includes a barrel with a number of plates. A heater included in the hair tool may transfer heat at a specified temperature to the plates. The heater may draw power from a power unit. The hair tool has a handle connected to the barrel that allows the user to hold the tool. The adjustable diameter is achieved by an actuator that alters the outer diameter of the barrel by changing the distance between a surface of the plates and a central axis of the barrel. Also provided is a hair styling appliance (e.g. a curling tong, curling wand or hot iron brush) comprising such a barrel assembly. A heater element for a hair styling appliance is also provided, the heater element comprising a substrate having a conductive track for generating heat upon application of an electrical current thereto, and an integral temperature sensor. Manufacturing methods in respect of the above are also provided.
