HAIRSTYLING APPARATUSES AND RELATED METHODS
A hairstyling apparatus is provided, the apparatus including: a barrel defining a hairstyling surface and a central longitudinal axis, wherein the barrel has a first proximal end and a second distal end; a heating element in thermal communication with the barrel; and a rotating member in rotating communication with the proximal end of the barrel which rotates around the central axis of the barrel, the rotating member including a rotating plate that surrounds the proximal end of the barrel and an axially extending tab from the rotating plate along a longitudinal length of the hairstyling surface over at least a portion of longitudinal length of the hairstyling surface; wherein the rotating member includes a comb member, extending from the rotating member (such as the rotating sleeve/collar) which is attached or assembled to the tab and comprises a plurality of comb teeth arranged along the longitudinal length of the hairstyling surface.
Hair shaping device
A hair-shaping device comprising a winding core, a rotatably drivable entraining element with an axis of rotation which corresponds to the longitudinal axis of the winding core, the entraining element designed to grasp a strand of hair and to wind the strand of hair around the winding core, and a housing that encloses the winding core, wherein the radial distance of the inside of the housing from the lateral surface of the winding core in the region of a winding space is sufficiently large such that winding the strand of hair onto the winding core is not hindered. The housing comprises a slot extending in the direction of the longitudinal extent of the winding core. The entraining element is arranged inside the winding space. The slot is designed for inserting a segment of hair to be shaped into the winding space and extends into the housing part facing the hair pull-in side and bounding the winding space in this direction, such that a strand of hair inserted into the insertion slot is caught by the entraining element rotating inside the winding space. The housing has a warm air flow inlet for supplying heat to a strand of hair located in the winding space between the winding core and the housing.
Hair shaping device
A hair-shaping device comprising a winding core, a rotatably drivable entraining element with an axis of rotation which corresponds to the longitudinal axis of the winding core, the entraining element designed to grasp a strand of hair and to wind the strand of hair around the winding core, and a housing that encloses the winding core, wherein the radial distance of the inside of the housing from the lateral surface of the winding core in the region of a winding space is sufficiently large such that winding the strand of hair onto the winding core is not hindered. The housing comprises a slot extending in the direction of the longitudinal extent of the winding core. The entraining element is arranged inside the winding space. The slot is designed for inserting a segment of hair to be shaped into the winding space and extends into the housing part facing the hair pull-in side and bounding the winding space in this direction, such that a strand of hair inserted into the insertion slot is caught by the entraining element rotating inside the winding space. The housing has a warm air flow inlet for supplying heat to a strand of hair located in the winding space between the winding core and the housing.
HAIR STYING DEVICE
A hair styling device comprises an optical radiation source (L) for radiating hair (H), a sensor unit (S) for measuring effects from radiating hair (H), and a feedforward control device for controlling the optical radiation source (L) in dependence on a signal from the sensor unit (S). The optical radiation source (L1, L2) may produce a first flash having a first energy density that may be lower than required for photo-thermal hair reshaping, the optical radiation source being controlled to produce a subsequent flash in dependence on a sensor signal obtained in response to the first flash, which subsequent flash may have at least the first energy density. The sensor unit (S) may include a sensor arranged before the optical radiation source in a hair flow direction. The hair styling device may comprise, along a direction in which the hair (H) is guided, a first sensor (Si), a first LED unit (L1) being controlled in dependence on a signal from the first sensor (Si), a second sensor (S2), and a second LED unit (L2) being controlled in dependence on a signal from the second sensor (S2). The direction in which hair is guided through the hair styling device may determine which part of the optical radiation source will act as the first LED unit (L1). The hair styling device may comprise a drive mechanism (D) to move the hair (H) along the optical radiation source (L) at a speed controlled by the feedforward control device in dependence on the signal from the sensor unit (S).
BARREL FOR HAIR STYLING APPLIANCE
A barrel for a hair styling appliance, the barrel comprising: an external surface; and a heater-mounting surface inside the barrel; wherein the heater-mounting surface is integrally formed with the external surface. For example, the barrel may be formed as a single extruded metal component. Also provided is a barrel assembly comprising such a barrel, and one or more heater elements mounted on the heater-mounting surface. Also provided is a hair styling appliance (e.g. a curling tong, curling wand or hot iron brush) comprising such a barrel assembly. A heater element for a hair styling appliance is also provided, the heater element comprising a substrate having a conductive track for generating heat upon application of an electrical current thereto, and an integral temperature sensor. Manufacturing methods in respect of the above are also provided.
HAIR CURLER APPARATUS
A hair curler having an inlet end having an air inlet, a longitudinally spaced apart second end, a longitudinal axis and a plurality of axially spaced apart curler outlets. A land portion is located between adjacent curler outlets and an air flow passage from the air inlet to the curler outlets.

VARIABLE DIAMETER ADJUSTABLE HAIR TOOL
A variable diameter adjustable hair tool that includes a barrel with a number of plates. A heater included in the hair tool may transfer heat at a specified temperature to the plates. The heater may draw power from a power unit. The hair tool has a handle connected to the barrel that allows the user to hold the tool. The adjustable diameter is achieved by an actuator that alters the outer diameter of the barrel by changing the distance between a surface of the plates and a central axis of the barrel. The actuator may controlled by a control component that converts a user action into an action of the actuator. Other aspects are also described and claimed.
Curling iron
A curling iron contains: a body, a fitting sleeve, a plug, and multiple clampers. The body includes multiple rolling ribs arranged in a stepped shape and includes two stop portions. Two opposing rolling ribs on two peripheral sides of the body respectively do not flush with each other and are separated. The body also includes an orifice and a hollow portion, wherein the hollow portion has two retaining slots. The fitting sleeve includes two locking portions corresponding to the two retaining slots of the body. A diameter of the plug is equal to that of the orifice of the body, each of the multiple clampers includes a fixing portion and a clamping portion, and the fitting sleeve is fitted into the hollow portion of the body. The plug is accommodated in the orifice of the body, and each clamper clamps the body.
