A trimmer head (1) is disclosed arranged to be driven around a rotational axis (ax), via an interface (2), to rotate a trimmer line (3). The trimmer head (1) comprises a housing (1a, 1b), the interface (2), a trimmer line spool (5, 5), and an automatic feed mechanism (7). The automatic feed mechanism (7) is configured to release a trimmer line (3) spooled around the trimmer line spool (5, 5) when the trimmer head (1) is subjected to a change in rotational speed, via the interface (2), at a higher rate than a threshold rate of change in rotational speed. The trimmer head (1) further comprises an actuator (9, 9) connected to the automatic feed mechanism (7) such that a manual actuation of the actuator (9, 9) releases the trimmer line (3) spooled around the trimmer line spool (5, 5). The present disclosure further relates to a trimmer (13) comprising a trimmer head (1).

A grass trimming head includes a housing assembly and a spool. The housing assembly is formed with a housing cavity and an outer aperture for allowing a cutting line to be inserted from an outside of the housing assembly into the housing cavity. At least a portion of the spool is arranged inside the housing cavity, and the spool is rotatable with respect to the housing assembly about a central axis. The spool is formed with an inner aperture for allowing the cutting line to be inserted into the spool or a clamping portion configured to fix the cutting line.

A grass trimming head includes a housing assembly and a spool. A trimmer head includes a spool formed with a winding portion for winding a trimmer line and a head housing formed with an accommodating space for accommodating at least a portion of the spool. The trimmer head further includes an intermediate element for transmitting a torque between the spool and the head housing such that one of the spool and the head housing rotates with the other. The spool drives the intermediate element to rotate and the intermediate element is slidably connected to the spool in a direction along a rotation axis or parallel to the rotation axis. The spool does not move in the axial direction when the trimmer head of the grass trimmer is playing the trimmer line, thereby effectively avoiding the problem of the trimmer line jamming.

A grass trimmer includes an operating device configured for a user to operate and a grass trimmer device including a grass trimmer head and a motor. The grass trimmer head includes a spool configured for a grass trimmer line to wind around and a housing formed with an accommodating cavity. When the grass trimmer is mounted with the grass trimmer line, a part of the grass trimmer line protruding outside the housing is defined as an effective part of the grass trimmer line. The grass trimmer further includes a controller configured to control the grass trimmer head to release a grass trimmer line when the grass trimmer head is mounted with the grass trimmer line and a length of the effective part is detected to be less than or equal to a preset value.

The trimming head includes a spool and a line holding member, the spool is used to wind a cutting line, and the line holding member is formed with a line holding structure. The driving device includes a motor. The grass trimmer has an auto-winding mode. In the auto-winding mode, the motor drives at least one of the spool and the line holding member to make the spool and the line holding member rotate relatively so that the cutting line is wound on the spool automatically.
