DEVICE FOR REMOVING VINES FROM SWEET POTATO AND THE LIKE
20180343795 · 2018-12-06 ·

A vine removal device comprises a frame and a pair of spaced-apart vine agitators movably carried by the frame so as to form a vine-feeding maw or throat between the vine agitators. A driven vine-cutter is movably carried by the frame and driven relative to the frame, and is disposed in registration with the maw to receive and cut vines fed into the maw by the vine agitators. One or more drive mechanisms are drivingly coupled to the vine-cutter and the vine agitators to drive the vine-cutter and the vine agitators. The vine agitators capture the vines and feed them into the maw, where the vines are cut into mulch by the vine-cutter. A vine removal implement may comprise a plurality of the vine removal devices arranged in side-by-side relation to traverse along a series of sweet potato rows.

Gang mower with reel mower cutting units
10130026 · 2018-11-20 ·

A mower provides a frame intended to be implemented on a tractor, or to form a structure of a trailer. The mower provides a plurality of cutting units (6), at least six, generally disposed side by side, each cutting unit (6) comprising at least one roller (44) intended to roll on the ground. The mower provides a lift assembly linking the cutting units (6) to the frame and configured for articulating the cutting units (6) between a mowing position and a non-mowing position. In the mowing position, the lift assembly is configured for pressing the cutting units (6) against the ground in order to distribute, at least partially, the mower's weight on the ground via the rollers (44) of the cutting units (6). The mower provides lateral articulated beams (10) linking the cutting units (6). The beams (10) are foldable inwardly and forwardly.

SAW BLADE FOR A SAW FOR CUTTING STALK CROPS
20180326516 · 2018-11-15 ·

A saw blade for cutting stalk crops, such as for example maize or millet, has a planar flank and a facet flank and a sawing edge with a succession of saw teeth. The saw teeth are provided with a wear protection zone, the wear resistance of which is greater than that of a material of the base body of the saw blade. The wear protection zone is respectively located on the planar flank of each saw tooth. The saw teeth in the region of the tooth face have a cutting facet, starting from the facet flank. The cutting facet is configured at a distance from the planar flank of the saw tooth to form a blunt tooth cutting edge and, in a preferred embodiment, the cutting facet and the facet flank are configured without a wear protection zone.

Control system for controlling header speed of an agricultural vehicle
10111379 · 2018-10-30 · ·

A control system and method for adjusting a rotational speed of a header on an agricultural vehicle based on ground speed of the agricultural vehicle. The header may include a plurality of cutters rotatably actuated with a header actuator. The control system may have a processor that compares a ground speed of the agricultural vehicle with a threshold ground speed. If the ground speed of the agricultural vehicle is below the threshold ground speed, the processor may command the header actuator to rotate the cutters at a constant predetermined rotational speed. If the ground speed of the agricultural vehicle is above the threshold ground speed, the processor may command the header actuator to increase rotational speed of the cutters in proportion to the ground speed of the agricultural vehicle.

Stalk roller assembly for an agricultural system

A stalk roller assembly for an agricultural system includes a stalk roller having a hollow shaft. The hollow shaft has a first end having a first shape, such that the first end engages a guide element. Furthermore, the hollow shaft has a second end having a second shape that engages a drive shaft, such that the first shape is different than the second shape. In addition, the hollow shaft is formed from a single piece of material.

WALK REEL MOWER WITH HANDLE ASSEMBLY
20240315166 · 2024-09-26 ·

A walk reel mower has a traction frame that carries a handle assembly to accommodate users of different heights. A pivotal bail on the handle assembly allows the user to slip a traction clutch to temporarily slow the mower down when turning the mower around. The handle assembly has a resilient isolator that acts in shear to permit the traction frame of the mower to maintain the quality and the height of cut when operated by users having a heavy downpressure touch on the handle assembly. A fixed head reel cutting unit or a flex head reel cutting unit can be interchangeably carried on the traction frame using a common mount therefor. Backlapping can be accomplished in situ by using an idler wheel between a driven transport wheel and the reel of the cutting unit to reverse the direction of the reel.
