Modular lawn maintenance machine and method

A method, system and apparatus for a lawn or turf care maintenance machine, including at least one of fully electric operation; multi-purpose operation; and overnight, silent operation. The machine can be configured for at least one of golf course maintenance, turf care, landscaping, outdoor work, and transportation.

Limb and branch trimming apparatus
09807928 · 2017-11-07 ·

A limb and branch trimming apparatus includes a frame having a support platform and an upstanding mast member; a cutting assembly having a plurality of cutting members, wherein the cutting members are rotatably connected at the mast member; and a power source for powering the cutting members independently from the vehicle's power source. The support platform of the limb and branch trimming apparatus is removably mountable to or near the top front portion of a vehicle. The apparatus is used for vertically cutting limbs, branches, and brush along a walkway, pathway, or trail where a tractor would typically be too large to navigate said pathway or trail.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANAGEMENT OF HARVEST RESIDUE
20170311542 · 2017-11-02 ·

A stalk roll assembly for header of a combine harvester. The assembly includes first and second stalk rolls spaced laterally with respect to one another and rotating in opposite directions. Each stalk roll includes a frusto-conical nose and a cylindrical body. The cylindrical body includes a plurality of radially extending flutes. The nose includes a pair of helical flights. The plurality of flutes includes at least one cutting flute having a straight edge and a plurality of puncturing flutes with teeth. The stalk rolls are laterally offset a distance that permits the tips of the flutes to laterally overlap and the teeth of the puncturing flutes are longitudinally offset so the tips of the teeth are received between with the valleys of the teeth of the other stalk roll.

MECHANISM FOR SENSING VIBRATION IN CONDITIONER ROLLERS
20220046852 · 2022-02-17 ·

A conditioner roller vibration sensing mechanism having first and second rotatable conditioner rollers spaced apart in close proximity to each other and between which cut crop can be directed as the rollers rotate during operation. The first roller is shiftable with respect to the second roller for adjusting the spacing between the rollers. The rollers vibrate when the rollers are spaced in such close proximity to each other that they contact each other as they rotate. An arm pivotally mounted to a frame supports the first roller, and the frame supports the second roller. The arm is movable to shift the first roller with respect to the second roller. An accelerometer is operatively coupled to the rollers for sensing the vibration created when the first and second rollers are positioned so close to each other to contact each other.

Cutting disk and system for vertically mowing turf

A disk for vertically cutting grass surfaces, the disk includes a center plate mountable to a shaft and a plurality of teeth extending from a circumferential edge of the center plate. Each tooth comprises a base extending from the circumferential edge of the center plate and at least one blade extending from the base at an offset angle. Each blade includes a neck extending from the base at the offset angle, and a tip extending radially outward from the neck relative to a center plane of the center plate such that the tip is offset from the center plane. The tip also extends from the neck at a yaw angle relative to the center plane such that when the disk is rotated about a rotational axis of the shaft a leading edge of the tip rotates in a different rotational plane than a trailing edge of the tip.

A method of securing a blade to an apparatus for cutting vegetation, wherein the apparatus includes a first and a second blade contacting structure. The method includes providing an elongated blade that is configured and arranged to be relatively flexible; and positioning the elongated blade between the first blade contacting structure and the second blade contacting structure such that the first blade contacting structure makes contact with a first surface of the elongated blade and the second blade contacting structure makes contact with a second surface of the elongated blade. The positioning step results in a plurality of bending forces being applied to the first and second surfaces of the elongated blade via the first and second blade contacting structures, thereby bending the elongated blade, and whereby the bending forces secure the elongated blade to the apparatus for cutting vegetation.
