Positioning system and methods for use with automated hair cutting systems
Embodiments of positioning systems and methods for use with grooming systems are disclosed herein. One embodiment of a grooming system comprises a moveable grooming device; a positioning device, and a system interface for determining positioning of the moveable grooming device relative to the positioning device. The positioning device comprises a frame having a front, a first side, and a second side; a plurality of frame supports; and a plurality of positioning interfaces. The moveable grooming device comprises at least one sensor for interfacing with the plurality of positioning interfaces. The system interface is configured to interface the plurality of positioning interfaces with the at least one positioning sensor to establish an origin position of the at least one sensor and moveable grooming device; compute a plurality of positioning ranges; and select at least two positioning ranges for calibrating one or more positions of the moveable grooming device.
A DEVICE FOR CUTTING HAIR
The present application relates to a device (10) for cutting hair. The device (10) has a skin contacting face (13) that is arranged to be placed against a surface of the skin (16) of a user during use, and an optical system (20) configured to direct a cutting laser beam (18) across a cutting zone (15) parallel to and spaced from said skin contacting face (13) to cut hairs (17) extending into the cutting zone (15). The device also has a detector (40) configured to generate information indicative of the presence of one or more objects representative of hair (17) and/or skin (16) in the cutting zone (15), and a controller (27). The controller (27) is able to determine the presence of one or more objects representative of hair (17) and/or skin (16) in the cutting zone (15) and to adjust one or more characteristics of the optical system (20) in dependence on the information generated by the detector (40). The present invention also relates to a method of cutting hair and a computer program comprising instructions which, when executed by at least one processor, cause the method to be performed.
Apparatus and method for optimized hairstyle guide generation
There is provided a computer-implemented method for generating an optimized hairstyle guide for use with a hair clipper. The method comprises acquiring (202) a plurality of reference points for mapping a hairstyle onto the head of a subject, receiving (204) a first user input for adjusting at least one of the relative position and the hair length value of a selected reference point, adjusting (206), based on the first user input and one or more predetermined rules, at least one of the relative position and the hair length value of one or more non-selected reference points, and generating (208) an optimized hairstyle guide for mapping the hairstyle.
Method For Cutting Curly Hair
The methods disclosed herein are generally directed to method for cutting hair that create balance and volume. The methods include a C-, pinch-, and/or a rose-cut technique. Each technique includes separating the hair to be cut into a plurality of sections and further partitioning the section into subsections. The C-cut technique includes forming the hand of the stylist into a C-configuration around a subsection of hair and cutting the hair in a circular motion. The pinch-cut technique includes curling a plurality of fingers on the hand of the stylist in one direction, curling the thumb in the other direction, and overlapping the curled fingers and thumb. The hair held in the C-, pinch-configuration may then be cut in a circular motion such that hair positioned within a center of the subsection is cut shorter than hair positioned closer to an exterior of the portion of the hair.
