DISPOSABLE RESPIRATOR FIT TEST HOOD AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
A single use disposable respirator fit test hood includes front and rear panels joined together along a left and right side edges, and a top edge with an adhesive, particularly a Pressure Sensitive Adhesive. The front panel is provided with an aperture through which test substances are introduced into interior cavity defined by the front and back panels. The test subject inserts their head through an opening defined by the bottom edges of the front and rear panels. During fabrication, shoulder pieces are cut off the front and rear panels to give the bottom edges a generally truncated V-shape. A portion of each shaped bottom edge rests on the test subject's shoulders. The hood is able to remain upright because of the thickness of the film used for the front and rear panels and the presence of the strips of pressure sensitive adhesive.
Alternative nose and mouth masks
An alternative nose and mouth mask allows a user to protect their respiratory inhalations and filter respiratory exhalations, thus reducing the likelihood of the spread of diseases. The apparatus forms a preferably adhesive seal over the user's mouth and nose separately, thus preventing passing of contaminated air between a user's mouth and nose. Many current mask designs, when worn, tend to make the wearer appear less trusting and less human, creating an illusion that results in perception of the mask as a disguise. The apparatus maximizes the amount of visible skin, thus mitigating the disconcerting effects of mask wearing. Furthermore, the apparatus may provide a medicated layer, which may be helpful in assisting users recover from a variety of potential respiratory ailments. A waterproof outer layer prevents damage due to wear and moisture buildup as well as potential damage due to poor weather conditions.
PROTECTIVE RESPIRATORS AND A METHOD OF MAKING A PROTECTIVE RESPIRATOR
A personal protective respirator comprising a facepiece housing configured to cover the nose and mouth and conform to a face of an intended wearer along a perimeter of the facepiece housing and at least two straps, wherein the facepiece housing and the straps consist of a knitted material and the facepiece housing conforms to the face of the intended wearer such that sufficient fit is achieved to attain a fit factor of at least 100 on the intended wearer according to OSHA fit testing procedures. Also, a personal protective respirator comprising a face portion configured to cover a nose and mouth of an intended wearer and to conform to a face of the intended wearer and at least four straps, wherein the mask meets NIOSH requirements for N95 respirator performance and maintains this level of performance after being washed. Finally, a method for making the noted personal protective respirators.
Apparatus for safe eating and drinking in public during airborne contamination
The invention provides an equipment and a system that addresses the key concerns of eating/drinking in public while minimizing the chance of contamination of the eater and the public in general. The equipment can be a face mask, a face shield or a helmet that completely encloses at least the mouth and the nose of a person while providing intermittent access to the mouth without removal of the equipment. A mouth opening is provided on the equipment which is selectively blocked or unblocked by a covering element moved by a moving mechanism that moves the cover element to block or unblock the mouth opening. The mouth opening is selectively blocked or unblocked based on the distance between an activating element provided on a utensil or a wearable device and a receiving element provided on the equipment.
SINGLE USE FACE SEAL MASK
A facial mask completely seals a part of the face over which the facial mask is secured by an adhesive around a periphery of the facial mask. The facial mask may cover the mouth or both the mouth and nose of a user. The facial mask may have a filter.
Face mask
This application is for an improved face mask that allows users to easily transition between a full-protection mode and a partial-protection mode. In full-protection mode, the improved face mask covers a user's mouth area and nose area. In partial-protection mode, a mask hatch removably attached to the mask frame is detached and exposes the user's face covered by the mask frame. A method of manufacturing the improved face mask is also described.
Face mask with separate inhaling and exhaling portions
A face mask with separate inhaling and exhaling portions can include an upper mask portion and a lower mask portion. A plurality of folds extend across each of the upper and lower mask portions. The lower mask portion can be larger than the upper mask portion. A lower edge of the upper mask portion can be secured to an upper edge of the lower portion. In use, the upper mask portion can cover the nose and the lower mask portion can cover the mouth. A user can inhale through the upper portion and exhale through the lower portion. In this manner, CO.sub.2 exhaled by the user will not mix with air that is inhaled.
Sanitizing face mask
A sanitizing face mask inhibits the transmission of pathogens in air respired through the nose and mouth of a wearer. The mask includes hydrophobic inner and outer layers and an intermediate layer enclosed between them. The intermediate layer is saturated with a sanitizing liquid such as an ethanol solution. Respired air encounters the sanitizing liquid as it passes through the intermediate layer, killing pathogens borne on droplets or aerosols. The sanitizing mask protects the wearer, from pathogens in the inspired air, and others, from possible pathogens in the expired air of the wearer.
PERIMETER SEAL FOR A FACE MASK
A perimeter seal device is constructed in three layers to easily convert a non-sealed face mask to a face mask with a perimeter seal. The device has a top and bottom release liner, partitioned for providing the perimeter seal to an existing manufactured mask, with a double-sided adhesive layer in the middle formed with pressure-sensitive adhesive. A pre-cut perimeter portion of the adhesive layer provides the perimeter seal. The construction of the perimeter seal device allows alternate methods for fixing either side of the perimeter portion of the adhesive layer onto a face mask. The opposing side of the adhesive perimeter portion is adhered directly on a wearer's face. The device provides a way to convert a surgical or other non-sealed face mask to a sealed mask.
DUAL MODE PROTECTIVE FACE MASK
A dual mode face mask wherein in a first mode the mask can be used normally and in a second mode the mask can be sealed against the user's skin.
