Hair appliance switch mechanism

A hair appliance includes a handle, an electrical component coupled with the handle, and a switch mechanism in electrical communication with the electrical component and a power source. The electrical component has a plurality of settings. The switch mechanism includes a switch and a rotatable adjustment member. The switch has multiple positions and includes a sliding actuator. Each position corresponds to a respective setting for the electrical component. The rotatable adjustment member includes a contact surface operatively coupled with the sliding actuator such that rotational movement of the rotational adjustment member results in translational movement of the sliding actuator.

DIGITALLY CONTROLLED HAIRDRYER

A digitally controlled hairdryer has removable attachments that are used to style hair. The hairdryer is powered with AC and DC power, with the DC power supply being separate from the main body. The removable attachments are powered and controlled by the hairdryer. The oscillating attachment has a motor that moves an oscillating portion to direct airflow from the outlet of the hairdryer. The diffuser attachment has a motor that is connected to a slider that moves along a central axis. The slider moves wire fingers between a grasped and relaxed position. The ends of the fingers are connected to a blocking membrane that directs airflow through an outlet aperture that is small in the grasped position and large in the relaxed position.

Attachment for a hand held appliance

An attachment for a hand held appliance, the attachment including an outer wall with a first part which is generally conical in shape, and a fluid inlet into the outer wall, wherein the fluid inlet is formed from a discontinuity in the outer wall. The outer wall may be formed from a first wall and a sleeve. The first wall may define a fluid flow path through the attachment. The sleeve may extend around the first wall forming a second fluid flow path from the fluid inlet in the outer wall, the second fluid flow path extending between the first wall and the sleeve. An outer surface of the sleeve and an outer surface of the first wall may be collinear. The fluid flow path may extend from a first fluid inlet into the attachment to a first fluid outlet. The first fluid inlet may be annular.

Attachment for a hand held appliance

An attachment for a hand held appliance, the attachment having a first wall, and a bung housed within the first wall wherein each of the first wall and the bung are molded as a single unit which are subsequently joined together. One of the first wall and the bung may include a locating rib and the other of the first wall and the bung may include a locating recess and the locating rib and locating recess are adapted to cooperate together to position the bung with respect to the first wall. In addition to the locating rib and locating recess, the first wall and the bung may be secured using one or more of gluing, welding and screwing the parts together.
