A separator (138) is provided, with air ducting (146). As fruit passes through the harvester (100), fingers (172, 174) cause the fruit to be removed from the fruit plants and deposited within the harvester (100).

The gathering portion is positioned proximate the first end and spaced apart from the second end. The terminating portion is positioned proximate the second end and spaced apart from the first end. The outward portion extends therebetween, the outward portion being inclined in an upward direction relative to the gathering portion, and directed in an outward direction, thereby extending away from the channel, and away from the other one of the first side and the second side lower conveyor sub-assemblies.

The at least one cleaning fan is configured as a mixed flow fan with a rotor having a frustroconical shaped hub and a plurality of blades. The hub includes a smaller diameter inlet end and a larger diameter outlet end. Each blade is attached to the hub and curves forward from the inlet end toward the outlet end, relative to a direction of rotation of the rotor, whereby air is blown during operation both axially and radially. At least one intake duct includes at least one inlet and an outlet. The inlet is positioned in association with an area to be cleaned on the fruit harvester, and the outlet is coupled with an inlet of a corresponding cleaning fan.

Each comb includes slots associated with a respective one of the sorting rollers. Each of the combs is pivotally coupled with a corresponding one of the first side member or the second side member. An actuator is coupled with each of the combs for selectively moving the pair of combs in directions transverse to the crop flow direction. An electrical processing circuit coupled with the actuator is configured for controlling the actuator and thereby selectively increasing or decreasing a spacing between the sorting rollers.
