Recliner seating mechanism with seat extension
A mechanism is provided for a seating unit that moves the seating unit between closed, TV, and fully reclined positions. The mechanism allows independent movement of a seat frame, relative to the chair arms and chair back to which the mechanism is mounted. The mechanism thus allows the seat depth of the chair to be adjusted relative to the chair back to accommodate the individual characteristics of the chair occupant.
SEATING FURNITURE CHASSIS
A seating furniture chassis comprises a seat surface frame, a leg rest chassis, first and second struts, and a retractable and extendable leg rest extension. The leg rest chassis is pivotably arranged on the seat surface frame and pivotable from a folded-out position into a folded-in position. The first strut includes a first elongated hole and a first guide element. The second strut includes a second elongated hole and a second guide element, wherein the second guide element is arranged displaceably in the first elongated hole, and the first guide element is arranged displaceably in the second elongated hole. The leg rest extension is arranged on the leg rest chassis and connected thereto by the first and second struts.
Reclining chaise
A furniture member may include a base frame, a chaise seat bottom frame, and a seatback frame. The chaise seat bottom frame is supported by the base frame and is movable relative to the base frame between first and second positions. The chaise seat bottom frame includes an upper-leg-supporting portion and a lower-leg-supporting portion that are fixed to each other. The lower-leg-supporting portion may support an occupant's lower legs in an extended position relative to the occupant's upper legs. The seatback frame may be supported by the base frame and may be movable relative to the base frame and the chaise seat bottom frame between upright and reclined positions. Movement of the seatback frame from the upright position to the reclined position causes movement of the chaise seat bottom frame upward and forward relative to an aft end of the base frame from the first position to the second position.
A DRIVE MECHANISM
A drive mechanism for an article of adjustable furniture, the drive mechanism having support sections, the support sections including a first support section and a second support section, an actuator mechanism, and at least one connecting mechanism, the at least one connecting mechanism includes a first arm pivotally connected to the first support section, and a second arm pivotally connected to the second support section, the first arm being pivotally connected to the second arm, in which the actuator mechanism is drivingly connected to the second support section to effect concertina-like movement between the first arm and the second arm to move the second support section relative to the first support section.
Recliner or lift and recliner chair with variable lift profile
A recliner or lift and recliner chair is provided having a recline or lift and recline chair mechanism with preferably with at least one recline or lift-recline actuator that controls a reclining movement or a lifting and reclining movement. The chair mechanism has a recline or lift-recline base, a seat and a back connected thereto. For additional functionality, a cradle assembly is provided in order to provide a cradling movement to the recline or lift-recline base. The cradle assembly can be provided by a system of standoffs and pivot connections, which can be direct or use links, or can be configured with a track and roller or slide system in order to achieve a desired cradling movement. A cradle actuator is connected between the cradle base and the recline or lift-recline base. A controller is provided that controls movement of the cradle actuator and preferably at least one recline or lift-recline actuator.
ERGONOMICALLY ADJUSTABLE RECLINER
A recliner for variable adjustment between a substantially horizontal position and an ergonomic seating position includes right-hand and left-hand side parts, which are each made up of an outer side part and an inner side part. The recliner also comprises a backrest element and a seat-surface element, which are connected to one another for rotation via a first bearing rod, as well as a foot-part element, which is connected to the seat-surface element for rotation via a second bearing rod. The foot-part element is mounted between the right-hand and left-hand side parts via a third bearing rod. The first, second and third bearing rods are each mounted for translatory movement in a corresponding guide in the right-hand and left-hand side parts such that the backrest element, the seat-surface element and the foot-part element can be adjusted in a variable manner between a substantially horizontal position and an ergonomic seating position.
The cradle assembly includes pivot connections between recline or lift-recline base and the cradle base. A cradle actuator is connected between the cradle base and the recline or lift-recline base. A controller is provided that controls movement of the cradle actuator and preferably at least one recline or lift-recline actuator.

The mechanism allows independent movement of a seat frame, relative to the chair arms and chair back to which the mechanism is mounted. The mechanism thus allows the seat depth of the chair to be adjusted relative to the chair back to accommodate the individual characteristics of the chair occupant.
Chair assembly
A chair assembly includes a supporting frame disposed above a base and including a first guiding groove. A seat is pivotably connected to a backrest. Lower and front guiding wheels are mounted to rear and front ends of the seat, respectively. At least one operating board includes rear and front ends respectively having second and third guiding grooves. The lower guiding wheel is movably received in the first and second guiding grooves. The front guiding wheel is movably received in the third guiding groove. A first operating rod is pivotably connected between the supporting frame and the seat. When the operating rod retracts, the lower guiding wheel is located in rear ends of the first and second guiding grooves, and the front guiding wheel is located in a rear end of the third guiding groove. The seat moves downwards and rearwards, and the front end of the seat inclines upwards.
