Brewing unit for a food preparation machine
The invention concerns a brewing unit (3) having a cavity for enclosing a food ingredient contained in a package (C), comprising first (14) and second (15) cavity parts, and fluid injection means (13), characterized in that said first and second cavity parts (14, 15) are hinged in a pivotal arrangement between open and closed positions and in that, when said cavity parts are pivoted in a closed position, the fluid injection means (13) and/or the first cavity part (14) are movable in translation relative to the second cavity part (15), between:a closed unlocked position that allows relative pivotal movement between cavity parts, anda closed locked position wherein said cavity parts are translated in contact with each other to close said brewing cavity, and wherein said injection means (13) protrude inside the brewing cavity to pierce a wall of the portion package.
COFFEE BREWING
A method and apparatus provides a coffee beverage having a reduced terpene content, in which terpene content is reduced by increasing the particle size of the coffee grounds.
BEVERAGE-DISPENSING MACHINE COMPRISING A POD CONTAINER THAT CAN PIVOT CLOCKWISE AND COUNTER-CLOCKWISE THROUGH 180°
A machine for dispensing beverages from a pod, includes a frame, a container including a pod-receiving zone, and an opening/closing device arranged between the frame and the container so as to pivot the container along a vertical axis between a closed position permitting the beverage to be dispensed and an open position permitting access to the pod-receiving zone, wherein the opening/closing device is configured such that the container has a 180 angular stroke for moving from the closed position to the open position and vice versa, such that a direction of rotation of the container can be clockwise or counter-clockwise, at the user's discretion.
LIQUID DISPENSING SYSTEM, LIQUID FLOW CONTROL ASSEMBLY AND LIQUID DISPENSER FOR DISPENSING LIQUID AT DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES
A liquid dispensing system, a liquid flow control assembly or member and a liquid dispenser. Preferably, the liquid dispensing system includes a single hot water tank. A liquid flow control assembly operably connected to the hot water tank is configured to direct only water from an upper portion of the hot water tank to a flavored beverage brewer (e.g., coffee or tea brewer) so that the flavored beverage is at an optimal elevated temperature when dispensed. The liquid flow control assembly or member is further configured to mix water from an upper portion of the hot water tank with water from a lower portion of the hot water tank and provide the water mixture to a hot water dispensing nozzle or outlet of the liquid dispenser to reduce the temperature of the water directed to the hot water dispensing nozzle or outlet.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DISPENSING A BEVERAGE
An assembly is disclosed. The assembly has a body member, an intermediate member attached to the body member, and a first sealed cavity formed by the body member and the intermediate member. The assembly also has a cover member attached to the body member, and a second sealed cavity formed by the cover member, the body member, and the intermediate member. The assembly further has a beverage-preparation liquid concentrate disposed in the second sealed cavity.
Method and an apparatus for preparing a brewed beverage
A method and apparatus for preparing a brewed beverage includes positioning a capsule with a brewing ingredient at a lateral opening of a brewing chamber. Heated water is conveyed to into the brewing chamber to brew the beverage by filling the capsule with the heated water. An outlet valve on of the brewing chamber is opened for filling a vessel with the brewed beverage through a feed nozzle. The brewing chamber is moved together with the feed nozzle from a brewing and filling position, where the capsule is positioned at the brewing chamber and the feed nozzle is above a passage for filling the vessel, to a rinsing position where the capsule is removed from the brewing chamber and the nozzle is above a guide element for directing water for disposal. In the rinsing position, the brewing chamber is rinsed with rinse water which is disposed via the nozzle and the guide element.
SYSTEM, CAPSULE AND METHOD FOR PREPARING A PREDETERMINED QUANTITY OF BEVERAGE
A capsule for holding an extractable product for dispensing a beverage is disclosed. The capsule comprising a circumferential wall, a bottom, a lid, and an entrance opening portion and an exit opening portion for letting fluid in the capsule and draining prepared beverage from the capsule, respectively, of which at least one opening portion is closed to prevent fluid from passing. The circumferential wall, the bottom and the lid of the capsule enclose an inner space that comprises an extractable product, and the capsule further comprises at least one moveable portion of the capsule that extends at a distance from a respective opening portion, and that is arranged to open the respective opening portion by being moved with respect to the respective opening portion.
