Method and Apparatus for High Yield Foaming of Coffee
An apparatus for high yield foaming of coffee has a pressure control mechanism, a gas pressure source, a water reservoir and a back pressure resonance mechanism, wherein a coffee outlet is arranged at a lower part of the back pressure resonance mechanism. When a button is pressed, water having a controlled water pressure enters a coffee placement cavity to be mixed with the coffee and extracted. One resonance needle and a colloid ring constitute a resonance cavity. When pressed coffee slurry passes through the resonance cavity, due to the pressed coffee slurry and a special structure of the resonance cavity, the coffee slurry is sufficiently foamed after high-frequency oscillation and flows out of the coffee outlet.
System for preparing a beverage
A system for preparing beverage, including a second exchangeable capsule, and arranged for optionally including a first exchangeable capsule. The second capsule is larger than the first capsule. The system also includes an apparatus with a first brew chamber part and a second brew chamber part forming a brew chamber for selectively holding one of the capsules and a fluid dispensing device for supplying fluid under pressure to the first brew chamber part. The first brew chamber part has a cavity for selectively holding the first or second capsule. The first brew chamber part may include a first volume not occupied by the first exchangeable capsule when holding this capsule. The first brew chamber part may include a second volume not occupied by the second exchangeable capsule when holding this capsule. APPARATUS FOR MAKING A BEVERAGE, COMPRISING AN IMAGE ACQUISITION DEVICE
This invention relates to an apparatus (1) for making a beverage, comprising an infusion chamber (21) suitable for receiving a capsule containing a food substance for making a beverage, an insertion opening (31) for inserting the capsule into the apparatus (1), a transfer channel (32) for transferring the 5 capsule from the insertion opening (31) to the infusion chamber (21), an image acquisition device (4) which is intended, in use, to acquire at least one image of a portion of the capsule. The image acquisition device (4) includes an optical sensor (42) facing an image capture zone (40) in which, in use, said capsule is located or passes. The apparatus (1) further comprises a 0 viewing window (45), made of transparent material, which is interposed between the optical sensor (42) and the image capture zone (40). The viewing window (45) has a first face (451) facing the optical sensor (42) and a second face (452) facing the image capture zone (40). The apparatus (1) further comprises a heating element (6) applied to the viewing window (45) 5 or incorporated in the viewing window (45). The heating element (6) is an electrical resistor-type heater and is electrically connectable to an electricity supply. The heating element (6) is intended for heating the viewing window (45) during use of the apparatus (1).
Capsule and system for preparing a beverage by centrifugation in a beverage production device
A capsule is designed for insertion in a centrifugal beverage production device for preparing a beverage from a substance contained in the capsule by introducing liquid in the capsule and passing the liquid through the substance using centrifugal forces. The capsule includes a body having a bottom end and an open end spaced apart in the axial direction, an upper wall for covering the body at the open end along a direction transverse to the axial direction, and an enclosure between the body and the upper wall containing a predetermined amount of beverage substance. The capsule further includes an annular pressure-setting ring configured for adjusting the backpressure in the beverage production device. The pressure-setting ring provides an improved coffee in-cup quality. A set of capsules can have pressure-setting rings of different dimensions for setting different backpressure when engaged in a centrifuging beverage production device.
Beverage maker
A beverage maker includes a body and a cover movably attached to the body. The body includes therein (among other components), a hot liquid generator (HLG) having a tank, an inlet for receiving liquid into the tank and an outlet, at least one heater in thermal communication with the liquid in the HLG tank, and a discharge port in fluid communication with the outlet of the HLG for discharge of the liquid. The cover is movably attached to the body between a closed position and an open position. At least one valve permits the discharge of the liquid via the discharge port in a closed position of the cover. The at least one valve is mechanically actuated by the cover in the open position of the cover to substantially prevent the discharge of the liquid via the discharge port.

A TELESCOPIC CUP TRAY FOR A BEVERAGE MACHINE
The present invention concerns a food and beverage preparation machine (1) comprising a machine body (2), a fluid system for preparing and dispensing a beverage, a beverage dispensing opening, and a cup tray (6) attached to the machine body in at least two possible height positions. According to the invention, the machine comprises a pit (7) with a cylindrical opening located below a dispensing opening, said cylindrical opening comprising at least one guiding pin (8), and the cup tray comprises a horizontal plate (10) and a vertical cylinder (11), the cylinder having a vertical cam groove (12) adapted to receive said guiding pin in a slidable manner for displacing the cup tray in height, and superimposed horizontal groove branches (13) extending from the vertical groove, advantageously through lower and upper curved camways defining a cusp-shaped cam path, for fixing the cup tray at predetermined height positions.
Capsules and other containers with optimized recycling attributes and methods for making same
A capsule or container is provided having optimized recycling attributes. The capsule is provided for use in a machine for preparing a consumable product from capsules. The capsule includes a body that defines an interior space with an opening. A cover is disposed over the opening. A filter is disposed in the interior space to define a chamber between the filter and the cover. The body, filter and cover are preferably formed of the same substantially pure polymer material. Ingredients are disposed in the interior space for preparing a desired product. A hinge is provided to tether the cover to the body. The cover is attached with a peelable seal to the body so that cover may be peeled away from the body while remaining tethered at the hinge.
Capsules and other containers with optimized recycling attributes and methods for making same
A process is provided for making a beverage capsule for use in a beverage preparing machine. The process includes the steps of: sealing a filter to an interior surface of a body for the beverage capsule to define an ingredients chamber; depositing a desired volume of desired ingredients into the ingredients chamber; and sealing a cover to the body to cover the opening. The cover is sealed to the body to define a hinge zone and a peel zone, wherein the hinge zone has a stronger seal than the peel zone.
