A machine for dispensing a beverage (5) includes a beverage processing module (2) that has an outlet (20). The module (2) further has a first part (25) and a second part (26) that can be relatively moved between: a transfer configuration for introducing a beverage ingredient (4) between the first and second parts (25, 26) and/or removing the ingredient from therebetween; and a processing configuration for forming said beverage (5) from said ingredient (4) between the first and second parts (25, 26). The machine also includes:a liquid driver (31) for driving a liquid along a liquid line (30) from a liquid source (32) via the processing module (2) to the outlet (20);a drop collector (1) having a beverage guide (10) and a motor (11) for moving the guide (10) relatively to the outlet (20) into either a dispensing position for dispensing beverage (5) from the outlet (20) into a dispensing area (6) or a collecting position for dispensing residual beverage (5) from the outlet (20) into a service area (7);a control unit (3) for controlling the liquid driver (31) and the motor (11, 11a, 11b); and a user-interface (3) for providing user-instructions to the control unit (3). The module (2) comprises a module actuator (21) for driving the first and second parts (25, 26) from the transfer configuration to the processing configuration and vice-versa, the actuator (21) being independent of the motor (11). The control unit (3) is arranged to activate the liquid driver (31) and the motor (11) upon receiving a user-instruction from the user-interface (32) independently of a presence or an absence of a receptacle (60) in the dispensing area (6).

A drip tray cover for a beverage machine has a projection for facing a downward direction in use having a tip which is adapted to reach below a maximum liquid level of a drip tray base beneath. At least one opening makes the projection visible to a user and it functions as dipstick for inspecting the liquid level in the drip tray.

An actuation assembly may adjust a height of the movable support member. A beverage vessel rim detector may be configured to determine whether an uppermost part of a beverage vessel supported by the movable support member is at an appropriate position for a beverage to be dispensed into the beverage vessel. A first beverage vessel detector may be positioned below the beverage vessel rim detector and configured to determine whether a beverage vessel is present on the movable support member. A second beverage vessel detector may be arranged between the beverage vessel rim detector and the first beverage vessel detector and configured to determine whether a beverage vessel is present on the movable support member.

The flap is pivotable relative to the dish about a pivot axis so that the flap is pivotable between a closed state and an open state, wherein in the open state a pouring opening of the residual water container is exposed through which pouring opening residual water can be poured out over the upper edge of the dish and wherein in the closed state the pouring opening is closed.

A drinks preparation machine for preparing a drink from a portion capsule includes a brewing chamber for inserting the portion capsule, a drinks outlet, from which the drink which is brewed in the brewing chamber gets into a drinks vessel which is placed therebelow, a housing including a front portion that is given by the position of the drinks outlet, and a receiving module for receiving a fluid or a spent portion capsule. The receiving module can be pulled horizontally out of the front portion of the drinks preparation machine and pushed into this again, wherein a component of the drinks preparation machine forms an underlay and the receiving module is carried by the underlay on pulling out and pushing in. The drinks preparation machine includes a receiving module body and at least one slider that is fastenable to a lower side of the receiving module body and which on the underlay has a smaller coefficient of kinetic friction than the lower side of the receiving module body and a lower hardness than the surface of the underlay.

A machine (1) for dispensing a beverage (2) includes: a beverage outlet (3) that is located above a dispensing area (4); a machine body or frame (5) having a first connecting part (51) and bearing the beverage outlet (3); and a recipient support (6) having a second connecting part (61) and a support member (62) held by the second connecting part (61). The second connecting part (61) is disconnectably connectable to the first connecting part (51) so that the support member (62) extends into the dispensing area (4) to support a beverage user-recipient (7) under the beverage outlet (3). The first connecting part (51) and the second connecting part (61) have a connection member and a connection receiver arrangement for disconnectably connecting the parts (51,61) such that: the first connecting part forms a connection member and the second connecting part forms a connection receiver; and/or the first connecting part (51) forms a connection receiver and the second connecting part (61) forms a connection member. The connection member is inserted in the connection receiver when the first and second connecting parts (51,61) are connected. The connection member is removed from the connection receiver along a removal direction (51) when the first and second connecting parts (51,61) are disconnected. The removal direction (51) has an upwardly directed vertical component (51) when such machine (1) is in position to dispense the beverage (2).
