A sheet material dispenser can include a sheet material transfer assembly operable to automatically transfer feeding or dispensing of sheet material between a plurality of supplies of sheet material. The sheet material transfer assembly can include a frame that is movable between a plurality of positions including a first position that facilitates feeding of the sheet material from a first supply of sheet material, and a second position that facilitates feeding or dispensing of sheet material from a second supply of sheet material. The frame of the sheet material transfer system can shift or move to the second position for dispensing sheet material from the second supply of sheet material when the first supply of sheet material is fully dispensed.

A rolled product dispenser for dispensing a web of rolled product, comprising: a housing; and a dispensing assembly at least partially housed in the housing and interacting with the web of rolled product and including a dispensing roller having a rotation center and a peripheral wall with an upper section. The dispensing assembly can comprise an upper tensioning assembly and/or a lower tensioning assembly and/or a variable tension return assembly.

A lockout system that limits use of a rolled web material dispenser assembly to dispense only authorized rolls of web material. The lockout system includes a hub and an insert that cooperate with one another to define mating registration elements that removeably cooperate with one another and provide a rotational cooperation therebetween when engaged with one another. The insert is shaped to be received in a bore of discrete authorized roll of web material. In one embodiment, the insert includes an overlapping portion formed between opposing ends of the insert and preferably between rotational bearing surfaces associated therewith. In another embodiment, the hub supported by the dispenser is moveable relative to the dispenser and renders the hub unavailable for operative cooperation with inserts that are not configured for cooperation therewith.

A lockout system that limits use of a rolled web material dispenser assembly to dispense only authorized rolls of web material. The lockout system includes a hub and an insert that cooperate with one another to define mating registration elements that removeably cooperate with one another and provide a rotational cooperation therebetween when engaged with one another. An apparatus for dispensing consumable material can include a housing, first and second support frames, a mandrel, and a lever. The mandrel can be movably mounted to the support frames between upper and lower positions and configured to hold upper and lower rolls. In some embodiments, when the mandrel is in the upper position, only the lower roll is accessible, and when the mandrel is in the lower position, both of the upper and lower rolls are accessible. The lever can be operatively connected to the first support frame and moveable between first and second positions. In some embodiments, when in the first position, a portion of the lever presents a physical interference that inhibits the mandrel from moving from the upper position to the lower position and, when moved to the second position, the physical interference is removed, thereby allowing the mandrel to move.

An example sheet product dispenser includes a housing with a base portion and a loading door. A motor drives a base portion roller or a loading door roller to cause dispensing of the sheet product along a sheet product path and through an outlet. A pump is in fluid communication with a liquid reservoir and a spray mechanism, and is configured to cause liquid from the reservoir to spray onto the sheet product through the spray mechanism prior to dispensing. A controller is configured to determine whether to operate in either a dry mode or a wet mode based on user input provided. When in the dry mode, the controller causes the motor to operate to dispense dry sheet product. When in the wet mode, the controller causes the motor to operate and the pump to operate to dispense wetted sheet product.

Dispensing towels includes, using a motor assembly configured to cause a leading edge of the toweling to be extended from a housing of the dispenser and to cause the toweling to be subsequently retracted back into the housing, (a) the step of extending the toweling exterior of the housing for grasping by a user; and (b) subsequent thereto, the steps of (1) retracting the toweling into the housing using the motor assembly; (2) sensing a leading edge of the toweling, using a sensor, while retracting the toweling; and (3) ceasing retracting of the toweling into the housing using the motor assembly as a function of sensing the leading edge of the toweling using the sensor. The toweling is advanced by the motor assembly such that a line of perforations in the toweling, along which the user tears the toweling, is located downstream of the sensor.

Systems, methods, and apparatuses regarding an improved sheet product dispenser are provided herein. Example sheet product dispensers include a rotatable carriage that holds two full size product rolls. Upon substantial depletion of one of the product rolls, the sheet product dispenser is configured to enable the carriage to rotate to present the depleted product roll to the janitor for easy and intuitive replacement. For example, a carriage with a depleted product roll may be configured to automatically rotate upon opening of the cover. Additional features for intuitive and reliable installation of the product roll are also provided herein, such as roll holder slot guides and a retention mechanism that maintains installation of a product roll during rotation of the carriage. Such example sheet product dispensers help to eliminate product waste, reduce confusion while loading, and reduce the time and effort required to load the sheet product dispenser.

A dispenser assembly facilitating selective dispensing of sheet material from a plurality of supplies of sheet material having a plurality of driven rollers each configured to move sheet material from a respective supply of sheet material. The dispensing assembly including an activation system that can include an opposing beam dispenser activation assembly for triggering a dispensing operation and/or a visible light indicator for guiding a user.
