Refill for a dispenser, with a material web wound to form a roll and at least one substantially axially adjustable bearing journal. The at least one substantially axially adjustable bearing journal is adjustable substantially axially outwards away from the roll starting from a defined inner end position in which it protrudes axially beyond the roll. A bearing unit for such a refill, and a dispenser for housing the refill and dispensing the material web are also provided.

A lockout system that is configured to limit use of a rolled web material dispenser assembly to dispense only authorized rolls of web material. The lockout system includes respective first and second mating registration elements that removeably cooperate with one another and provide a rotational cooperation therebetween when engaged with one another. One of the registration elements is associated with each authorized roll of web material and the mating registration element is associated with the rolled web material dispenser assembly. The first registration element defines an insert engaged with a bore of discrete authorized rolls of web material. The corresponding and mating second registration element defines a hub that is supported by the roll dispenser. Mating of the first and second registration elements provides a rotatable linkage that facilitates rotation of the roll relative to the dispenser assembly during the dispense activity.

A method and apparatus for dispensing toilet paper is disclosed. A sliding toilet paper holder includes a toilet paper holder configured to carry and dispense a roll of toilet paper. A slide assembly is coupled to the toilet paper holder and is attachable to a support structure adjacent to a toilet. The slide assembly operable between a stowed position and an extended position to selectively extend and retract the toilet paper holder. The apparatus and method permits a user to more readily access and dispense a desired quantity of toilet paper while seated on a toilet and to stow the toilet paper carried on the toilet paper holder when not needed. A spare tissue spindle may also be carried by the slide assembly.

A method and apparatus for dispensing toilet paper is disclosed. A sliding toilet paper holder includes a toilet paper holder configured to carry and dispense a roll of toilet paper. A slide assembly is coupled to the toilet paper holder and is attachable to a support structure adjacent to a toilet. A spindle assembly for supporting a roll of paper product is disclosed with features that make the spindle versatile and useable for supporting paper product rolls in a plurality of styles of dispensers. The spindle assembly also includes features that assist in maintaining the supported paper rolls in a desired orientation, such as horizontally in a vertically oriented dispenser. This resists skewing of the rolls in the dispenser and facilitates the separation of the rolls as paper is used from a lower roll in a dispenser. Also, brake members are provided to engage the core of a supported roll of paper to slow down the rotation of the roll of paper when pulled upon by a user.

According to an exemplary embodiment, a dispenser for rolled paper product includes a first arm and a second arm, with the first arm having an elongate member configured to receive a roll of paper product. A first mounting bracket is configured to rotatingly couple the first arm to a mounting surface. The first arm is configured to cover the first mounting bracket from view. A second mounting bracket is configured to rigidly couple the second arm to the mounting surface.
