A cyclone dust collector having improved usability and a vacuum cleaner having the same are provided. The cyclone dust collector includes: a cyclone chamber including an inlet through which air is drawn in and an outlet through which dust-filtered air is discharged; a discharge passage disposed inside the cyclone chamber; a spiral part formed around the discharge passage to be inclined in a spiral pattern; and a grill rotatably disposed on the discharge passage, and the outlet is formed inside the discharge passage.

A surface cleaning apparatus comprises a cyclone chamber having a cyclone axis of rotation and an openable portion wherein the openable portion is rotatably mounted about an opening axis that is parallel to the cyclone axis of rotation.

A hand vacuum cleaner has an air treatment member positioned in an air flow path through the hand vacuum cleaner. A driving assembly is drivingly connected to the moveable member wherein the driving assembly is operable between a stored position is which the surface cleaning apparatus is operable to clean a surface and a cleaned position in which the moveable member has been translated through at least a portion of the chamber, wherein, in the stored position, a portion of the driving assembly is longitudinally spaced from the first and second axially spaced apart ends of the air treatment chamber.
