A moisturizing steam cap and method for hair moisturizing, where the moisturizing steam cap includes: an outer surface; an inner portion; a flap pocket stitched onto the inner portion, where the flap pocket includes a slit opening on one side of the pocket; and a moisturizing insert, where the moisturizing insert is placed into the flap pocket. The moisturizing insert may include an outer layer and a protective barrier. The steps related to a method of hair moisturizing according to the present invention includes: saturating a moisturizing insert with a moisturizing substance, inserting a moisturizing insert into a flap pocket of a moisturizing steam cap; placing a moisturizing steam cap over a user's hair; and heating the moisturizing insert releasing steam with the moisturizing steam cap.
