Package Including an Areal Medical Device
A package, which includes an areal medical device like a surgical mesh, comprises a folder supporting the areal medical device. The folder comprises a base panel, which has two side edges opposing each other and which includes at least one tab adapted for holding the areal medical device on the base panel. The folder further comprises two side flaps, each of the side flaps emerging from a respective one of said side edges of the base panel and being folded about said respective side edge onto the base panel into a respective folded state. The side flaps and the at least one tab cover at most 15% of the area of the areal medical device.
Ambidextrous support base for a suture thread
The invention relates to a support base (1) for a suture thread having two opposite sides (12, 14) and comprising on one side (12) thereof a storage channel (2) for a suture thread in a wound position, and a holding zone (4) of one end of the suture thread, the holding zone (4) being surrounded by the storage channel (2), the support base (1) being characterized by having a through-opening (5) between the two sides (12, 14) thereof, the through-opening (5) extending into the holding zone (4) and continuing from the holding zone (4) in such a way as to intersect the storage channel (2), and a shutter (8) moving between an open position for uncovering the through-opening (5) between the two sides (12, 14) thereof, and a closed position for at least partially opening the through-opening (5), the moving shutter (8) being configured to project, in the open position thereof, from the side (14) of the base (1) which is opposite to the side (12) on which the storage channel (2) is formed.
Suture storage devices, systems, and methods
Devices, systems, and methods are provided for managing suture filaments when performing soft tissue repair. One exemplary embodiment of a surgical suture management device is in the form of a suture loop management card. The card can generally be configured to hold open a collapsible loop of suture until a force applied to the loop is greater than a threshold tension. The card can include a number of different features that help to keep the loop open until the threshold tension is achieved, including features designed to prevent the filament from being mistakenly offloaded. The card can be configured to be removably inserted into a handle of an inserter tool for use as a surgical tissue repair system. Other devices, systems, and methods for performing soft tissue repair are also provided.
PACKAGING MATERIAL FOR SUTURE THREAD WITH NEEDLE
There is provided a packaging material for a suture thread with needle allowing extraction of the suture thread with needle from the packaging material without the suture thread being entangled, and making it difficult for the suture thread to be scraped at a point of the packaging material when extracting the suture thread with needle stored in the packaging material. The packaging material folded in three or more for storing the suture thread with needle includes a curved cutout part on an end part of the packaging material in an open state. A through-hole for the suture thread is formed by a crease and the curved cutout part when the packaging material is folded so that the curved cutout part is positioned on the inner side of the packaging material), and the suture thread passes through the through-hole when extracting the stored suture thread with needle from the packaging material.
Primary packaging for a sterile medical device
The present invention is directed to packaging for an item of medical equipment. The packaging includes a sheet for receiving the contents, a cover element and closing mechanism. The packaging is simple to manufacture, reliable, allows easy and safe access to the medical equipment, and without any particular excess cost.
MULTIPLE PANEL SUTURE DISPENSING CARD AND METHOD FOR USING THE SAME
The present disclosure is directed towards an apparatus comprising a card adapted to mount on a fixture and further adapted to fold into a box-shaped package with at least one wall and an internal cavity adapted to contain a suture, the card including a base and a plurality of tabs extending from the base, wherein one of the plurality of tabs includes a needle nest and one of the plurality of tabs is adapted to unfold and open one wall for removing the suture.
Emergency self-retaining sutures and packaging
A removable self-retaining suture system and methods for use thereof in emergency situations. The system comprises one or more self-retaining suture segments and a grasp engagement element. The system may be used for temporary wound closure in a trauma victim, and may be easily removed upon the availability of proper medical care to the victim.
