EXPANDABLE BODY DEVICE AND METHOD OF USE

Disclosed herein are devices, designs, methods of manufacturing and using medical devices comprising expandable bodies for treating saccular vascular aneurysms and occluding segments of blood vessels and other biological conduits. Exemplary expandable bodies include hollow gold structures that can be folded, wrapped, and compressed, joined to a delivery device, advanced to location in the body of patient in need of treatment, expanded by injection of a fluid into the central void, and separated from the delivery device, remaining in place in an open, expanded form without the addition of support structures to the central void. Other expandable bodies include coiled wires that can be loaded into delivery catheters and expelled from the delivery catheters using pusher devices. Also disclosed herein, are methods of using multiple medical devices and expandable bodies where the expandable bodies are placed adjacent to each other to occlude a saccular aneurysm.

DETACHABLE METAL BALLOON DELIVERY DEVICE AND METHOD
20220031486 · 2022-02-03 ·

A medical device comprising a compressed, inflatable, detachable balloon attached to a catheter and methods of use for occluding blood vessels or treating vascular aneurysms are disclosed. The balloon may be configured such that it can be detached from the catheter by mechanical means. The surface of the balloon may be configured to promote the growth of tissue into the wall of the balloon and to release drugs or pharmacologically active molecules, so that vessel occlusion or the sealing of an aneurysm will be maintained over time.

Devices for Vascular Occlusion

An occlusive device, occlusive device delivery system, method of using, and method of delivering an occlusive device, and method of making an occlusive device to treat various intravascular conditions is described.

Implant Delivery Device

A system for delivering an implant within a patient is disclosed. The activation of the heater coil causes the degradation, melting or reduction of a component that brings the heater coil into or out of electrical contact with another component, or causes the individual loops of the coil to contact each other, thereby resulting a notable change in resistance in the circuit supplying the heater coil with electricity. A core wire terminates prior to the distal end of the device, allowing for greater flexibility.

A system and method of delivering and detaching an implant within a body of a patient is described. A tether connects an implant with a delivery device. The delivery device includes a heater coil through which the tether passes. The inner diameter of the heater coil is about the same size or slightly larger than the outer diameter of the tether, allowing the tether to more efficiently break the tether during delivery.

Vaso-occlusive device delivery system

A vaso-occlusive device delivery assembly includes a pusher assembly having proximal and distal ends, a conductive sacrificial link disposed at the distal end of the pusher assembly, and a vaso-occlusive device secured to the pusher assembly by the sacrificial link. The pusher assembly includes first and second conductors extending between the proximal and distal ends thereof. The sacrificial link is electrically coupled between the first and second conductors, such that the first conductor, sacrificial link and second conductor form an electrical circuit, and, when a disintegration current is applied through the sacrificial link through the first and second conductors, the sacrificial link thermally disintegrates, thereby releasing the attachment member and vaso-occlusive device from the pusher assembly.

Embolic coil detachment mechanism with flexible distal member, resistive electrical heating element and shape memory polymer element

An embolic coil detachment system includes an elongated, flexible shape memory polymer tube having an inner wall surface defining an interior lumen. A distal portion of the shape memory polymer tube has an enlarged and reduced diameter configurations. An embolic coil is releasably mounted to the shape memory polymer tube by a headpiece releasably attached within a distal portion of the shape memory polymer tube. A resistive heating element disposed longitudinally along and in immediate contact with the inner wall surface of the distal tubular wall of the shape memory polymer tube provides direct, even heating to release the headpiece and embolic coil attached thereto when the resistive heating element is energized.

A catheter system utilizing one or more sensors is described. The catheter can be used as part of an embolic coil system, guidewire system, or combined embolic coil/guidewire system where the devices interact with the catheter system. A variable detachment embolic coil system and guidewire system are also described.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DELIVERY OF GEL EMBOLICS

Delivery systems for liquid embolics and methods of using them are disclosed. The devices generally include a catheter and one or more retention elements to limit migration of the liquid embolic to non-target sites.

Systems and methods for treating aneurysms

An apparatus for treating an aneurysm in a blood vessel includes an occlusion element including a first tubular mesh having a first end and a second end coupled together at a proximal end of the occlusion element such that an intermediate portion of the first tubular mesh between the first end and the second end includes a substantially 180 degree turn, the intermediate portion of the first tubular mesh extending distally from the proximal end of the occlusion element, wherein the intermediate portion of the first tubular mesh has a collapsed configuration and is configured to expand to an expanded. In some embodiments, the apparatus further includes a second tubular mesh having a first end and a second end coupled to the proximal end of the occlusion element such that an intermediate portion of the second tubular mesh between the first end and the second end includes a substantially 180 degree turn. In some embodiments, the apparatus further comprises a cover coupled to the proximal end of the occlusion element.
