20210106345 · 2021-04-15 · ·

A bone treatment guide, a bone treatment guide set, and a method for using a bone treatment guide are provided that enable a treatment tool, such as a trephine, to be accurately disposed relative to a bone of a patient, and that can keep a positioning member, such as a guide pin, from affecting treatment using the treatment tool. A parallel guide 5 has a positioning guide portion 13 that is to be connected to a guide pin 2, which is to be temporarily fixed to a patient's femur 101, and a treatment tool guide portion 14 configured to be able to guide a trephine 3 for treating the femur 101 toward a position at which the trephine 3 is to enter the inside of the femur 101 and in an entering direction, the treatment tool guide portion 14 being arranged in an area different from the positioning guide portion 13.

MINIMALLY INVASIVE HIP ARTHROPLASTY TECHNIQUES AND APPARATUS
20210093332 · 2021-04-01 ·

A minimally invasive hip arthroplasty technique involves intramedullary insertion of an elongate femoral broach into a femur. The broach has a superior lateromedial transverse bore. A reaming rod is then located through the transverse bore and the neck of the femur. A cutting head is coupled to a distal end of the reaming rod via an incision. An orthogonal drive arm of an arthroplasty jig may also be inserted behind the cutting head to press the cutting head to ream the acetabulum while the reaming rod rotates the cutting head.

An orthopedic assembly is disclosed. This orthopedic assembly can include a ring portion, a second portion and indicia. The ring portion can define an aperture configured to allow the ring portion to seat on a head of a bone. The second portion can extend from the ring portion. The second portion can define a slot that is curved along a first length. The indicia can extend along a portion of one or both of the ring portion and the second portion.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ROBOTIC-ASSISTED SURGERY USING CUSTOMIZED BONE REGISTRATION GUIDES
20210137613 · 2021-05-13 ·

Described within are systems, methods and apparatus for a bone mounted robotic-assisted orthopedic surgery system for precise implant position, soft tissue balancing and guidance of tools during a surgical procedure, particularly partial or total knee replacement procedure. The system features a bone mounted robotic arm with end-effector for precise positioning of surgical tool, positioning of implants and balancing of soft tissues. The reconfigurable robotic system requires minimal training by surgeons, is intuitive to use similar to conventional instrumented surgery and has a small footprint. The system works with existing, conventional instruments, patient specific instruments, sensor-assisted systems and computer-assisted systems and does not require increased surgical time and safely provides the enhanced precision achievable by robotic-assisted systems and computer-assisted technologies.

System and methods for positioning bone cut guide

Examples of an orthopedic surgical device for use in operating on a target bone and methods for operating a system for use in orthopedic surgery on a bone are generally described herein. An orthopedic surgical device can include an primary positioning block, and a secondary positioning component removably coupled to the primary positioning block. The secondary positioning component can be configured to: engage a prepared engagement feature machined into the target bone, and guide the primary positioning block to a predetermined position on a target bone. The orthopedic surgical device can include a first cutting block configured to: removably couple to the primary positioning block, and guide a cutting tool to cut the target bone.

Method and apparatus for treating a joint, including the treatment of cam-type femoroacetabular impingement in a hip joint and pincer-type femoroacetabular impingement in a hip joint

A computer visual guidance system for guiding a surgeon through an arthroscopic debridement of a bony pathology, wherein the computer visual guidance system is configured to: (i) receive a 2D image of the bony pathology from a source; (ii) automatically analyze the 2D image so as to determine at least one measurement with respect to the bony pathology; (iii) automatically annotate the 2D image with at least one annotation relating to the at least one measurement determined with respect to the bony pathology so as to create an annotated 2D image; and (iv) display the annotated 2D image to the surgeon so as to guide the surgeon through the arthroscopic debridement of the bony pathology.

Apparatus and methods for treatment of a bone

Apparatus and methods for treatment of a bone. The apparatus may include an implant. The implant may include an implant tail and an implant head configured to expand, inside the bone, from a collapsed state to an expanded state. The apparatus may include an intramedullary rod defining a central longitudinal rod axis. The intramedullary rod may include a guide segment configured to guide the implant head into the bone and support the implant tail. The intramedullary rod may include an elongated extension member spaced radially apart from the central longitudinal axis. The extension member may be configured to provide clearance for the implant head as the implant head is advanced, in the collapsed state, into the bone. The extension member may be configured to provide clearance for the implant head in the expanded state.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING A JOINT, INCLUDING THE TREATMENT OF CAM-TYPE FEMOROACETABULAR IMPINGEMENT IN A HIP JOINT AND PINCER-TYPE FEMOROACETABULAR IMPINGEMENT IN A HIP JOINT

The Joint Revision Surgery Apparatus facilitates rapid, efficient and complete removal of an existing prosthesis during joint revision surgery, and significantly increases positive medical outcomes for joint revision procedures.

Guide for intramedullary reamer

Various implementations include a guide for intramedullary reamer; that includes a central body adapted to be received in a medullary canal and defining an inlet opening and an outlet opening, communicating with each other by an axial cavity, passing inside the central body, adapted to receive a reamer inside it. The central body defines at least one non-rectilinear portion, interposed between the inlet opening and the outlet opening, shaped so as to guide the reamer inside the medullary canal, in axial alignment. The non-rectilinear portion defines a window adapted to facilitate the insertion of the reamer inside said central body.
