Patient Selectable Joint Arthroplasty Devices and Surgical Tools
Disclosed herein are tools for repairing articular surfaces repair materials and for repairing an articular surface. The surgical tools are designed to be customizable or highly selectable by patient to increase the speed, accuracy and simplicity of performing total or partial arthroplasty.
Surgical methods of osteotomy device with an In-vitro alignment component
The present invention provides a surgical method of osteotomy device with an in-vitro alignment component comprises the steps of: placing a first body component and a second body component on the surface of a bone; engaging an engaging member with a connecting member; inserting at least one aiming bone pin in at least one aiming hole to confirm the cutting direction; inserting at least one fixation bone pins in a plurality of fixation holes to fix the osteotomy device with an in-vitro alignment component; cutting along a guide slot to produce an osteotomy; spreading the osteotomy; placing a bone plate to maintain the osteotomy.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR IMPLANTING A KNEE PROSTHESIS
A method for preparing a femur for receiving a prosthesis. The method includes the following: fixing a femoral trial component to the femur; coupling a reamer bushing relative to the femoral trial component; reaming a cavity into the femur using the reamer bushing as a guide; coupling at least one of a modular femoral box trial and a stem adapter relative to the femoral trial component; trialing the femoral trial component with the articulating surface of the femoral trial component; and performing the coupling of the reamer bushing, the reaming of the cavity, the coupling of the at least one of the modular femoral box trial and stem adapter, and the trialing of the femoral trial component all while the femoral trial component remains fixed to the distal femur.
ROBOTICALLY-ASSISTED CONSTRAINT MECHANISM
A computer-assisted surgery system for performing a surgical procedure on a patient's anatomy includes a robotic device, a guide coupled to the robotic device, and a computer in communication with the robotic device. The computer is configured to command the robotic device to selectively operate in one of a first mode in which the guide is manually moved by a user or a second mode in which the robotic device autonomously moves the guide. In the first mode, the robotic device is controlled by the computer to constrain motion of the guide to a predefined plane while allowing the guide to be manually moved along the pre-defined plane.
Artificial prosthesis installation clamp and method
In the use of devices and methods for measuring applied pressure on an article, such as a patella construct during a surgical procedure, a clamp is provided with arms, an optional external spring, an optional internal spring and a torque knob for applying constant and measurable pressure to the article. Embodiments of the clamp include a spring rod engaged with the torque knob for assisting in applying and retaining desired pressure. Spike elements and a bushing insert are secured to the ends of the arms for retaining the article in place during use. The elements are advantageously assembled and disassembled to facilitate thorough and quick cleaning.
Osteotomy device with an extracorporeal alignment component
The present invention provides an osteotomy device with an extracorporeal alignment component comprising a first body component, a second body component and an extracorporeal alignment component. The first body component has an upper guide edge for forming a cutting track. The second body component has a lower guide edge disposed below the upper guide edge. A guide slot is formed between the upper guide edge and the lower guide edge for guiding the saw blade to cut. The guide slot has a connecting member for connecting the upper guide edge and the lower guide edge. The extracorporeal alignment component has an engaging member and at least one aiming hole. The engaging member is engaged with the connecting member. The aiming hole is used to confirm the direction of cutting.
Spring-Fit Surgical Guides
Various embodiments of devices, systems, and methods for surgical procedures, including spring-fit guides for improved guidance of surgical instruments, are disclosed.
PATELLA DRILL GUIDE AND TRIAL SURGICAL INSTRUMENT
An orthopaedic surgical instrument includes a patella trial and drill guide that may be used to both perform a surgical trial of the patellofemoral joint and guide the surgeon in drilling a number of anchor holes in the patella of the patient.
ROBOTICALLY-ASSISTED CONSTRAINT MECHANISM
A surgical system includes a robotic arm, a constraint mechanism coupled to the robotic arm, and a computer system configured to control the robotic arm to constrain manual movement of the constraint mechanism to a plane. The computer system is also configured to control the robotic arm to lock the constraint mechanism in a desired pose when the constraint mechanism is moved to the desired pose via manual movement in the plane.
