A multifunctional traction and bone fixation device relates to the technical field of medical devices. Two traction clamping plates serve as a base. The front of each of the two traction clamping plates defines a traction nail. The middle portion of the clamping plate is arranged with a positioning and pressurizing screw. The rear end of the clamp plate is arranged with a traction handle screw. The clamping plate is arranged with a plurality of auxiliary fixation pin holders and auxiliary fixation pins. Heads of two traction nails are injected in opposite directions into a lower portion of a fracture site to determine a fixation position. Rear ends of the two traction clamping plates extend along the thigh direction to be weighted-pulled.

The present application provides external bone fixation systems. The systems include one or more pairs of bone fixation platforms in the form of rings or partial rings. The platforms may be coupled to corresponding bone segments. The pair of platforms are configured to accept a plurality of struts extending therebetween. The struts are configured to attach to the platforms via joints that provide three degrees of rotation. The struts are also configured such that their longitudinal length extending between the joints/platforms can be incrementally adjusted while attached to the platforms. The struts are further configured such that their total range of length adjustment can be increased by coupling at least one add-on component to the struts in situ. The lengths of each of the plurality of struts may be adjusted to arrange the platforms, and thereby the bone segment coupled thereto, in particular relative positions and orientations.

Dynamization tabs providing component interconnectivity for external fixation devices

Dynamization tabs and methods of use are provided. Dynamization tabs may be used with an external fixation ring or other fixator device as part of a therapeutic treatment of bone fractures or malformations. The device forms a connection between one or more fixation struts and an external fixation ring so as to introduce controllable amounts of movement or dynamization to the arrangement of the struts and the fixator. By introducing controlled amounts of dynamization, therapeutic benefits can be derived in the enhanced, accelerated bone formation, mineralization and remodeling of the underlying bone. Dynamization tabs may comprise a strut connector, a mechanical biasing or dynamizing device, and a ring connector. Many different forms for introducing controlled amounts of dynamization are disclosed.

Universal clamp apparatus for bone fixation device

A universal clamp apparatus for orthopedic external fixators is disclosed. Preferably, the universal clamp apparatus has two pin/rod clamps, each having seating grooves for attaching to a frame rod associated with a frame of the fixator and/or a bone pin for implantation in a bone fragment. A clamp screw extends through and connects the first and second pin/rod clamps. An ergonomically designed knob having at least one collapsible or non-collapsible turn lever acts as a torque amplifier when rotated by hand without tools to tighten and untighten the pin/rod clamps to the frame rod and/or bone pin by movement along the clamp screw. The pin/rod clamps have planar sides that are contiguous and have radial ratchet grooves that are in mating engagement and provide a ratcheting mechanism so that the rotation of the pin/rod clamps relative to each other occurs in incremental rotational steps.

A plurality of replaced strut graphical representations may change from a first rendering state in a swap start fixator graphical representation to a second rendering state in a swap end fixator graphical representation. A plurality of replacement graphical representations may change from the second rendering state in the swap start fixator graphical representation to the first rendering state in the swap end fixator graphical representation. In some examples, the plurality of replaced strut graphical representations may gradually fade out from a swap start stage to a swap end stage, and the plurality of replacement strut graphical representations may gradually fade in from a swap start stage to a swap end stage. Additionally, a treatment plan including at least one interfamily strut swap may be generated for manipulating a fixator to correct a deformity.

MINIMALLY INVASIVE TOOLS, SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A system includes a first tool having a base, a nut, and a tool guide. The base extends from a first end to a second end and includes at least one thread disposed along a length thereof. The first end includes a foot having a widthwise dimension that is greater than a diameter of the at least one thread. The nut is configured to be disposed along the length of the base and to engage at least one thread. The tool guide is configured to be slideably disposed along the length of the base and has a body including a flange portion. The flange portion defines an opening for receiving at least one of a pin and a cutting tool. Rotation of the first nut causes the nut to translate along the length of the base thereby causing the tool guide to move along the length of the base.

An elongate support shaft is movable with the base and movably connected thereto and at least one or alternatively a plurality of rod clamps are mounted on the support shaft. Each of the plurality of one or more rod clamps is structurally adapted to secure a different fixation rod to the support shaft. The one or more rod clamps are movably connected and adjustably positioned on the support shaft in adjacent relation to one another. The base, the support shaft and one or more rod clamps are movably interconnected relative to one another to define a substantially universal disposition of said plurality of rod clamps relative to the pin clamp.
