An external fixator system includes a proximal frame configured to restrict motion in a lower extremity of a subject, and a frame connector assembly. The proximal frame includes a first, second, and third component. The first component can support a first clamp to secure a first pin inserted within a bone extending between a foot and a knee of the lower extremity. The third component extends from a second end of the second component. The first, second and third components have longitudinal axes that are substantially coplanar. The third component includes an extension to extend over a dorsal portion of the foot of the subject and to support a second clamp to secure a second pin inserted within a bone of the foot. The frame connector assembly extends from the second component to support a third clamp to secure a third pin inserted within a third bone of the foot.

ELONGATED PIN FOR APPLICATION OF AN EXTERNAL FIXATOR

Elongated pin (1) for an external fixator for temporary and/or permanent fixation applications to treat bone fractures and to connect two or more bone fragments to each other, comprising an elongated cylindrical stem (2) extending along a longitudinal axis (X) and a conical end portion (3) with a tip and an external thread for inserting the pin (1) into a bone, wherein said conical end portion (3) with a tip has an overall length, measured along the longitudinal axis (X), equal to the diameter (d) of the stem (2) 20% of said diameter (d) and wherein the stem (2) comprises a cylindrical end area (4) extending adjacent to the conical portion (3) and having an external thread which extends over a length, measured along the longitudinal axis (X), equal to the diameter (d) of the stem (2) 25% of said diameter (d).

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AN EXTERNAL HIP FIXATOR

Embodiments of the invention provide a fracture fixation device and method for treatment of a bone fracture. The fracture fixation device includes a main body having a recess formed therein, and a compression element is configured to be received in the recess. The compression element has a passage dimensioned to receive a fracture fixation pin. A compressive force is generated across the bone fracture upon the compression element receiving the fracture fixation pin to promote healing of the bone fracture. The fracture fixation device is an external fixator that provides adjustable aspects of compression, rotation, and length in a simple design that facilitates bone healing by compression.

A hinge apparatus has a pair of outrigger bars that attach to and extend outwardly from respective joint bodies. The outrigger bars can be adjusted at various angles relative to each other. The joint bodies have respective surfaces that face and engage each other. A joint screw connects the joint bodies. A torque amplifying knob with collapsable turn levers rotates a central screw turn actuator. The actuator is engaged with the screw so that movement of the actuator is caused in opposite first and second linear directions along the threaded body when rotational force is applied in opposite first and second rotational directions, respectively, to the torque amplifying knob. The turn levers of each knob can be collapsed in a side-by-side arrangement. The turn levers of the knobs are ergonomically designed so that the knobs can be hand operated, without tools, in the collapsed and un-collapsed configurations.

MULTI-CLAMP APPARATUS FOR EXTERNAL BONE FIXATOR
20250064483 · 2025-02-27 ·

Embodiments of a multi-clamp apparatus for an orthopedic exterior fixator are disclosed. One embodiment of the multi-clamp apparatus has two clamp arms, each having a plurality of opposing crescentic channels that, when pressed together, are of a length, size, and shape to engage and secure a plurality of bone pins. An outrigger bar extends from each of the clamp arms for attachment of fixator components. Each clamp arm has a collapsible torque amplifying knob that can be hand operated and that causes relative movement of the two clamp arms for concurrently clamping and unclamping multiple bone pins when rotational force is applied to one or both of the knobs. The turn levers of each knob can be collapsed in a generally mating, side-by-side arrangement. The turn levers of the knobs are ergonomically designed so that the knobs can be hand operated, without tools, in the collapsed and un-collapsed configurations.
