SURGICAL INSTRUMENT CONNECTORS AND RELATED METHODS

Connectors for connecting or linking one instrument or object to one or more other instruments or objects are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a connector can include a first arm with a first attachment feature for attaching to a first object, such as a surgical access device, and a second arm with a second attachment feature for attaching to a second object, such as a support. The connector can have an unlocked state, in which the position and orientation of the access device can be adjusted relative to the support, and a locked state in which movement of the access device relative to the support is prevented or limited. Locking the connector can also be effective to clamp or otherwise attach the connector to the access device and the support, or said attachment can be independent of the locking of the connector.

Bracket for external fixation of bones

A fixation system for fixing a bone fracture has a plurality of blocks, needles and rods that snap together in a framework around the fracture. The needles are inserted through the bone and the blocks are snapped onto the ends of the needles. Rods are snapped onto the blocks on both sides of the finger to keep the finger in place. Each block has two channels located on opposite sides and extending perpendicular to each other. The channels are structured so that a rod or needle having a diameter equal or slightly greater than one of the channels can be snapped into and retained by the channel.

An external bone fixation system may include a first semi-circular external fixation member, a second semi-circular external fixation member, four ball collet assemblies attached to the second external fixation member, and four shafts. Each shaft may include a first end attached to the first external fixation member and a second end with a stop member, and each of the four shafts extends slidably through an opening in a ball of one of the four ball collet assemblies. The stop member of each second end prevents each second end from passing through the opening in its respective ball. Each shaft also includes a hinge located closer to the first end than to the second end.

CONNECTING APPARATUS FOR CONNECTING PINS AND/OR ROD ELEMENTS OF AN EXTERNAL FIXATOR, EXTERNAL FIXATOR, AND DEVICE FOR OUTPATIENT EMERGENCY CARE

The invention relates to a connecting apparatus for the purpose of connecting pins and/or rod elements of an external fixator, having a first clamping arrangement for fastening at least one pin and/or rod element and a second clamping arrangement for fastening at least one pin and/or rod element, the first and second clamping arrangements being mounted to be rotatable relative to each other via a rotary joint about an axis of rotation and to be pivotable relative to each other via a pivot joint about a pivot axis which runs perpendicular to the axis of rotation. A traction means which can be subjected to a tensile load is guided through the first and second clamping arrangements, the rotary joint and the pivot joint. The invention also relates to an external fixator, having at least one such connecting apparatus and a device for ambulatory emergency care comprising an external fixator.

Minimally Invasive Bone Fracture Positioning Device

A minimally invasive bone fracture positioning device includes a sleeve, a movable unit, and a support. The sleeve includes an alignment portion located on a longitudinal axis of the sleeve. The movable unit includes a positioning portion. The positioning portion is located on the longitudinal axis and is spaced from the alignment portion. The movable unit is mounted in a radial direction of the sleeve. The movable unit is slideable relative to the sleeve along the longitudinal axis. A support is coupled to the sleeve and the movable unit. The movable unit is spaced from the sleeve by the support.

A clamping device includes a clamp body and a locking assembly. The clamp body includes a first jaw defining a first opening and a second jaw defining a second opening. The locking assembly includes a first locking element, a second locking element, and a lever. The first locking element includes a first end and a shaft portion extending from the first end. The shaft portion is sized to pass through the first opening and the second opening. The locking assembly is configured to reduce a distance between the first jaw and the second jaw responsive to rotation of the second locking element. The lever is configured to attach to the second locking element and rotate about the second locking element from a first position to a second position to cause the distance between the first jaw and the second jaw to be reduced further.

External fixator assemblies, systems, and methods thereof. An external fixator system may include a plurality of fixator assemblies configured to connect a plurality of pins, for example, positioned on opposite sides of a fractured bone, with one more rods. The fixator assemblies may include a plurality of clamp assemblies which are configured to rotate relative to one another when the fixator assembly is in an unlocked position.

ORTHOPAEDIC ATTACHMENT DEVICE
20190110815 · 2019-04-18 · ·

An orthopaedic attachment device (1) which can adopt at least two positions, an inoperative position and a locked position. The orthopaedic attachment device comprises two clamps (2a, 2b) mounted opposite each other through a resilient member, and held by a clamping rod along a median axis by through-holes. Each of the clamps (2a, 2b) comprises a body part that comprises a outer jaw (4b) and an inner jaw (4a), connected by a joining wall (5), and which defines an opening that is designed to accommodate a stiffening bar or a pin via an insert. The opening extends inwards from the clamp (2a, 2b) as far as the joining wall (5) towards a passage and a hinge region. In the inoperative position, the outer jaw (4b) is fixed, whereas the inner jaw (4a) is moveable inwards towards the resilient member.
