Cantilever protraction device
The present invention provides body anchored protraction devices. The protraction devices direct the negative forces of protraction over a large surface area on the chest and abdomen of a patient. The protraction devices employ a cantilever support rod and ultra-low friction joints to enable low compression on the head without restricting free movement.
Bone distractor
A bone distractor to create separation between bone segments by means of a pair of mounts respectively secured to the bone segments and interconnected by means of a drive spring which is secured to one of the mounts and threadedly interconnected to the other mount such that rotation of the drive spring creates sufficient separation of the bone segments to allow for osteogenesis to occur.
Mandibular distractor device
A mandibular distractor device is configured for attachment to opposing sides of a mandible, e.g., a rabbit's mandible, for performing distraction osteogenesis. The distractor device includes a distractor body and an activation bar that extends through the distractor body. The activation bar can be disposed within the body such that a threaded portion of the bar is threaded to an interior wall of the anterior plate, while a smooth portion of the bar extends within the posterior plate. Once the distractor is secured to the mandible, the activation bar can be rotated incrementally to incrementally disengage the threaded portion of the activation bar from the threaded interior wall of the anterior plate. Rotation of the activation bar in this manner incrementally moves the anterior plate anteriorly within the rabbit's mouth, while the posterior plate remains in position.
Singer-Domanski resin MMF/reimplantation device
A resin MMF/reimplantation kit is provided with a dental arch bar that includes an elongated pliable splint and a plurality of attachment members. The pliable splint includes an interiorly facing side surface and an exteriorly facing side surface. The pliable splint includes a curable component that cures from a moldable state to a rigid state in less than one minute upon being activated. The attachment members can be ether partially embedded in the pliable splint or can be separate from the pliable splint until after the pliable splint is attached to the patient's teeth.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING EARLY TREATMENT APPLIANCE FOR GUIDING MANDIBULAR GROWTH AND RECONSTRUCTION WITH MAXILLARY OCCLUSION STRUCTURE
A method for manufacturing an early treatment appliance for guiding mandibular growth and reconstruction with a maxillary occlusal structure is provided. A maxillary arch is arranged by determining a functional occlusal plane, a treatment target position of a maxillary first molar, a treatment target position of a maxillary central incisor, a treatment target positions of canine to bicuspid in a middle section of the maxillary arch, and a maxillary arch form, and a target mandibular arch is determined based on a centric relation jaw position and the target maxillary arch, and then the mandibular occlusion reconstruction is guided by adjusting the mandibular arch or arranging a jaw pad based on the condition of the child. The maxillary arch structure can be restored to a normal range conforming to the age and growth pattern structure of an individual while the pathogenesis is controlled.
MANDIBULAR ADVANCEMENT AND RETRACTION VIA BONE ANCHORING DEVICES
Systems, methods, devices and apparatus for mandibular advancement or retraction via bone anchoring devices are described herein. In various aspects, an apparatus for treating a patient via mandibular advancement or retraction comprises a plurality of anchoring devices positioned in the patient's intraoral cavity. Each of the plurality of anchoring devices can be positioned in bone of the patient's upper jaw or bone of the patient's lower jaw. One or more connecting structures can be removably coupled to and extend between the plurality of anchoring devices in order to displace the lower jaw anteriorly or posteriorly relative to the upper jaw.
Activation tool for a bone expansion apparatus
The invention relates to an activation tool (1) for a bone expansion apparatus (3), the bone expansion apparatus (3) being a distraction plate apparatus (3), the activation tool (1) comprising a magnetic element (130) solidly attached to a rotation shaft (120) of the activation tool (1), the magnetic element (130) being configured to interact coaxially with a distant magnetic element (310) borne by the bone expansion apparatus (3), the activation tool (1) being characterised in that it further comprises an electric motor (110) configured to cause the rotation shaft (120) to rotate, and a control module (140) controlling the rotation of the rotation shaft (120). The invention also relates to an assembly of a bone expansion apparatus (3) and of such an activation tool (1), in which the bone expansion apparatus (3) is a distraction plate apparatus (3).
Maxilla holder and installation thereof
A maxilla holder includes a base plate and a connecting member. One end of the connecting member is connected with the base plate which extends along a pre-designed occlusal plane while the other end of the connecting member includes at least two supporting portions. With the supporting portions abutting against the cranium, the base plate is positioned so that the maxilla is located in a pre-planned position once it is moved onto the base plate.
SURGICAL PLAQUE
At least one surgical plaque is provided, which has at least one fixation plaque so as to fix the separated bone parts of the lower and upper jaws in orthognathic surgery. Accordingly, its novelty is to include the following: at least one vertical extension that is connected from one side of said fixation plaque so as to fix the broken parts of 1.sup.st mandibula, and at least one carrier element provided to move linearly on said vertical extension so as to provide skeletal anchorage.
Systems and methods for a smart, implantable cranio-maxillo-facial distractor
Systems and methods for improved cranio-maxillo-facial distraction are provided. The disclosed subject matter can include a distraction device adapted for subcutaneous implantation in a patient, and a handheld device operationally coupled to the distraction device. The distraction device can include a distraction element, adapted to attach to opposing bony fragments of a bone and perform distraction osteogenesis on the bone, and a rotatable magnetic element, coupled to the distraction element such that rotation of the magnetic element controls the distraction element. The handheld device can include a magnetic element, operationally coupled to and magnetically aligned with the magnetic element of the distraction device, such that rotation of the magnetic element of the handheld device causes corresponding rotation of the magnetic element of the distraction device. The disclosed subject matter also provides techniques for implanting a distraction device to opposing bony fragments of a bone and using such a device.
