Rasp tool
A rasp tool for preparing an implantation site includes a first arm, a second arm, a first wing, and a second wing. The first arm and the second arm are pivotally connected to one another. The first wing extends from a distal end of the first arm and includes a sharp tip positioned at a distal end of the first wing and configured to ease insertion into the implantation site, and a cutout defined along a first side of the first wing. The second wing extends from a distal end of the second arm. The first wing and the second wing are configured to move between a closed position and an open position by pivoting the first arm and the second arm, and the second wing is received at least partially within the cutout when the first wing and the second wing are in the closed position.
Interlaminar, interspinous stabilization devices for the cervical spine
Dynamic, rigid, and convertible dynamic-to-rigid devices and methods of using such devices to treat spinal instability conditions of the cervical spine are provided. The devices may include an interspinous, interlaminar stabilization device configured for interlaminar placement between the spinous processes of adjacent cervical vertebrae and optionally secured to the lamina using bone screws or crimped or rigidly fixed to the spinous process. Multiple devices may be used to enable treatment of multiple levels at the same time.
Adjustable magnetic devices and methods of using same
A system includes a first pedicle screw, a second pedicle screw, and an adjustable rod having an outer housing coupled to one of the first pedicle screw and the second pedicle screw, the outer housing having a threaded shaft secured to one end thereof extending along an interior portion thereof. The system further includes a hollow magnetic assembly disposed within the outer housing and having a magnetic element disposed therein, the hollow magnetic assembly having an internal threaded surface engaged with the threaded shaft, the magnetic assembly being coupled to the other of the first pedicle screw and the second pedicle screw, wherein the hollow magnetic assembly rotates in response to an externally applied magnetic field to thereby lengthen or shorten the distance between the first pedicle screw and the second pedicle screw.
Systems and methods for posterior dynamic stabilization of the spine
Devices, systems and methods for dynamically stabilizing the spine are provided. The devices include an expandable spacer or member having an unexpanded configuration and an expanded configuration, wherein the expandable member in an expanded configuration has a size, volume and/or shape configured for positioning between the spinous processes of adjacent vertebrae in order to distract the vertebrae relative to each other. The systems include one or more expandable members and a mechanical actuation means for expanding the expandable member. The methods involve the implantation of one or more devices or expandable spacers.
INTERSPINOUS PROCESS FUSION DEVICE AND METHOD OF USE
The present invention discloses an interspinous process fusion device, a method of fabricating the interspinous process fusion device, and a surgical method for maintaining a space between two spinous processes in a spine of a patient using the fusion device. The interspinous process fusion device including a distal tip member, a middle plate, a proximal plate, an elongate member, and a plurality of movable wings. The elongate member having a first end, a second end, and a longitudinal axis extending between the first and second end. The distal tip member is connected to the first end of the elongate member, the proximal plate is connected to the second end of the elongate member, and the middle plate and plurality of wings are positioned intermediate the distal tip member and the proximal plate along the longitudinal axis to form the interspinous process fusion device assembly.
Ratcheted spinal device
A ratcheted spinal device including a variable-length member including a ratchet mechanism that has an operative configuration that allows a change in length of the variable-length member in one direction and prevents a change in length of the variable-length member in an opposite direction, wherein the variable-length member includes polyaxial-joint attachment members for attachment to bone, which permit pivoting movement of the attachment members about more than one pivoting axis.
SPINAL CORD PROTECTING APPARATUS
Disclosed is a spinal cord protecting apparatus. The spinal cord protecting apparatus includes a body and a fixture. The body is formed in a porous plate shape to cover an exposed spinal cord. The fixture is configured to fix the body. Accordingly, the spinal cord exposed to the outside is safely protected, so that an additional disease is prevented.
System and method for spinal decompression
A system for performing a laminoplasty procedure in a spinal vertebra includes an implant and an inserter tool. The implant is configured to be placed on a previously formed lamina opening of the spinal vertebra, and is shaped and dimensioned to be placed in the lamina opening after the opening has been distracted. The inserter tool is configured to insert the implant near the lamina opening and then to distract the lamina opening so that the lamina opening is dimensioned to receive the implant and then to place the implant into the distracted lamina opening while simultaneously holding the lamina opening in a distracted state.
Laminoplasty Hinges
A surgical implant device configured to adjust in planar orientation or angular orientation or both to correspond to the structure of the lamina to be spanned at the site of a cut of the laminoplasty surgery. The device includes a base having slots extending adjacent thereto, and an extension having a head configured to be adjustably positionable within the slots.
Fixation systems and methods of repairing a pars fracture
A fixation system for repairing a pars fracture includes a needle guide configured to be docked on a lamina of the pars, a needle, a guidewire, and a screw assembly. A portion of the needle is configured for insertion through a passage of the needle guide. A portion of the guidewire is configured for insertion through a passage of the needle. The screw assembly includes a collar and an elongated portion, the collar being movable with respect to the elongated portion. A portion of the screw assembly is configured to contact the lamina co-axially with the guidewire.
